The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 07/07/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 07/10/2023, MPD received 1,262 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (224), East (259), Midtown (173), North (255), South (134), West (177), and Other (40). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

07/07

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 1:38 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 52-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located. 

EAST: Theft – 1:14 p.m. Officers responded to a self-storage unit where reports of cut locks to several storage units. Probable cause developed to arrest a subject who remains at-large.  

CENTRAL: Sexual Assault of a Child – 2:25 p.m. Officers assisted Child Protective Services with an investigation into suspected child abuse/sexual assault. Investigation continuing.

NORTH: Stolen Auto – 6:46 p.m. A vehicle was reported stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

SOUTH: Check Person – 6:49 p.m. A suicidal subject was transported to a local hospital. Journey Mental Health was consulted. The subject later left the hospital. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was listed as missing/endangered in the appropriate databases.

CENTRAL: Traffic Arrest – 11:11 p.m. As a result of a traffic stop, the 33-year-old male driver/subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent, possession of fentanyl and resisting arrest.

WEST: Armed Robbery – 11:49 p.m. Officers responded to a business where two masked subjects entered the store and demanded cash from the employee at the register. A handgun was displayed. The subjects fled on foot and remain at large. Investigation continuing.

Priority calls only from 12:38 a.m. to 2:40 a.m. due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 8:47 p.m. to 9:26 p.m. due to calls for service.

MIDTOWN: PNB/AED Response – 2:16 a.m. Officers responded to a residence where a woman had fallen and hit her head and was in and out of consciousness. MFD paramedics transported the woman to the hospital. 

CENTRAL: Traffic Crash – 8:53 a.m. Officers responded to a crash at the intersection of John Nolen Dr, Blair St and Williamson St. A 52-year-old male driver/subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), possession of fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting/obstructing.

NORTH: Trespass – 10:26 a.m. Officers responded a report of a 32-year-old female subject who was armed with a large stick and refusing to leave the premises of a business. The subject was arrested for trespassing and resisting.

NORTH: Battery – 2:55 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a battery by an unknown subject. The victim obtained medical treatment. Investigation continuing.

CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 3:51 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (73-year-old female) in a parking lot. The subject had hit a pillar with her vehicle. The subject was found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).

WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 5:19 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 37-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.

MIDTOWN: Disturbance – 7:12 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 44-year-old male subject. The subject attempted to flee from officers. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed (2 counts) and resisting.

Priority calls only from 7:29 p.m. to 8:58 p.m. due to calls for service.

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 12:01 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 25-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 12:46 a.m. A 65-year-old male subject, wanted, was observed on Langdon St and taken into custody without incident. The subject was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia in addition to his parole warrant.

SOUTH: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 6:50 a.m. A 16-year-old female was reported as missing/runaway. The juvenile returned home as officers were completing their report.

SOUTH: Crash – 7:06 a.m. Officers responded to a vehicle vs. semi crash at the exit ramp from westbound Beltline to northbound Fish Hatchery Rd. No injuries sustained. A driver received traffic citations for running a red light.

MIDTOWN: Stolen Cycle – 10:00 a.m. A moped was reported stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The moped was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

EAST: Damage to Property – 10:04 a.m. Caller advised that someone attempted to steal their motorcycle but were unsuccessful.

CENTRAL: Mental Health Conveyance – 2:23 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was conveyed to a local hospital. Emergency detention being sought. Final outcome pending.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 3:56 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a 51-year-old male subject causing a disturbance at a store. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.

EAST: Intoxicated Driver – 4:12 p.m. Officers responded to a single vehicle crash. Witnesses reported the driver/vehicle driving approximately 100 mph when the driver/vehicle lost control. Alcohol was observed in the vehicle. The driver/subject (20-year-old male) was conveyed to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The subject was cited for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).  

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 4:15 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a subject with a knife. A 50-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.

WEST: Death Investigation – 6:03 p.m. Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (86-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 6:36 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 19-year-old female subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once she is located.

SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 6:50 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 20-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 7:01 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a retail theft involving a 27-year-old male subject.  The subject was located/contacted and arrested for attempted 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, disorderly conduct while armed, retail theft and bail jumping (2 counts).

WEST: Battery – 8:00 p.m. Officers responded to a battery complaint involving a 36-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, battery and intimidation of a victim.

SOUTH: Theft – 11:42 p.m. Caller reported that her dog, cash and electronics were stolen from her home. Investigation continuing.

EAST: Crash – 11:43 p.m. Officers responded to a vehicle vs. tree crash. The driver/subject (32-year-old male) attempted to flee on foot from the scene. The subject fought officers. The subject was arrested for battery to law enforcement and emergency medical worker, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), criminal damage to property, discharge of bodily fluids, possession of schedule 4 narcotics and disorderly conduct.

07/10

NORTH: Battery – 12:00 a.m. Officers responded to a battery complaint involving a 49-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.  

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 1:17 a.m. A 52-year-old male subject was arrested for possession with intent to deliver meth, a probation hold and other drug-related offenses.
