The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 10/30/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 10/31/2023, MPD received 362 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (51),East (82), Midtown (44), North (78), South (44), West (57), and Other (6). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

WEST: Stolen Auto – 6:00 a.m. A vehicle was reported stolen from a residential driveway. Subject gained access to the vehicle by breaking a window. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
NORTH: Death Investigation – 7:38 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (72-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office notified. Nothing suspicious identified.
WEST: Adult Arrested Person – 10:38 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a 30-year-old male subject in violation of a no-contact order. Officers arrived on scene and the subject fled on foot. The subject was arrested for violating a court order and resisting.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 2:01 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 27-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and misdemeanor bail jumping.
WEST: Check Person – 2:09 p.m. Officers responded to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital. Journey Mental Health consulted. Officers disengaged at this time.
EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 3:53 p.m. A 47-year-old male subject was arrested for violating an injunction order.
SOUTH: Check Area – 6:09 p.m. Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Moorland Rd/Wayland Dr. Areas checked. No evidence of shots fired located at this time.
WEST: Missing Adult – 6:56 p.m. A 21-year-old female was reported as missing. Attempt to locate aired. Phone ping attempted. Subject not located.
EAST: Death Investigation – 8:39 p.m. Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (45-year-old male). Evidence of drug use observed. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
EAST: Check Person – 9:04 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was contacted and voluntarily sought treatment at a local hospital.
CENTRAL: Recovered Stolen Auto – 11:22 p.m. An occupied stolen vehicle was observed by an officer. Contact made with three subjects who were ultimately all arrested. A 46-year-old male subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent and possession of drug paraphernalia. A 40-year-old male subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent (passenger), possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation/parole hold. A 53-year-old female subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent (passenger), illegally obtain prescription and felony bail jumping.
