The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 08/26/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 08/29/2022, MPD received 1,213 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (290), East (233), Midtown (177), North (219), South (93), West (173), and Other (28). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 12:54 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a subject reported that her mother had hit her and pushed her during an argument.  Officers were unable to corroborate the subject's story and did not establish probable cause for any charges.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 4:46 a.m.  A family member discovered the subject (69-year-old male) down in their residence.  Officers and MFD paramedics arrived and performed life-saving measures but were unsuccessful.  Nothing suspicious on scene.

WEST: Stolen Auto – 7:19 a.m.  The victim reported she parked on the street overnight and in the morning her vehicle was gone.  The victim reported a handgun had been in the car.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle and gun were listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 12:02 p.m.  The victim reported that the suspect (21-year-old male) was following her on the beltline and then was driving recklessly in front of her as if attempting to crash his car.  Once at their residence, the suspect threatened to kill himself while the victim was gathering some belongings.  As police arrived on scene, the suspect fled in his vehicle but crashed as he drove away.  The suspect was arrested for flee/elude officer and resisting.

EAST: Child Abuse – 12:25 p.m.  The first suspect (14-year-old male) accused the victim of jumping on a car that belonged to his father, who is the second suspect (31-year-old male).  The adult suspect then strangled the victim before both suspects began beating the victim.  The adult suspect was arrested for strangulation, false imprisonment and physical abuse to a child.  The juvenile suspect was arrested with battery and disorderly conduct and was conveyed to the Juvenile Reception Center.

NORTH: Mental Health Conveyance – 6:55 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a subject grabbed a knife and threatened to kill himself.  The subject was placed into protective custody and transported to a hospital.

CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 9:57 p.m.  An officer attempted a traffic stop on a suspect vehicle traveling 19 mph over the speed limit on E Washington Ave.  The suspect (59-year-old male) fled from the stop on foot but was quickly apprehended. The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (4th offense), operating after revoked, resisting and a speeding citation was issued.

NORTH: Weapons Offense – 1:35 a.m.  Multiple callers reported shots fired at the Eagles Club in the 2100 block of Bartillon Dr.  Officers located 40 fired shell casings and a damaged vehicle.  There were no reports of injured persons.  Investigation continuing.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 2:10 a.m.  During a traffic stop, officers observed the suspect (22-year-old male), who was not involved in the traffic stop, hiding near the stopped vehicle.  The suspect was instructed not to interfere with the traffic stop.  The suspect then approached the stopped vehicle and attempted to converse with the occupant.  The suspect was arrested for resisting and obstructing.

SOUTH: Check Person – 9:35 a.m.  An adult subject contacted police concerned because she did not know where her mother was.  Officers were unable to locate her mother at the time.  The mother returned to her residence later and police responded to check her welfare.  She stated she was fine and did not need police or medical assistance.

WEST: Stolen Auto – 10:28 a.m.  The victim reported his vehicle was stolen sometime overnight.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

MIDTOWN: Mental Health Conveyance – 10:28 a.m.  Officers received a request to pick up a subject on a Chapter 51 return order.  The subject was contacted and conveyed to a local hospital for a medical clearance.  The subject was subsequently transported to Winnebago.

SOUTH: Juvenile Arrest – 1:13 p.m.  A 16-year-old male was arrested for theft and obstructing. 

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 4:20 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 46-year-old female suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. 

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 7:35 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 21-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery. 

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 8:42 p.m. A 26-year-old male was arrested for disorderly conduct and misdemeanor bail jumping. 

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 10:49 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 37-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 12:54 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 39-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed (2 counts), carrying a concealed weapon, misdemeanor bail jumping and an outstanding warrant. 

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 2:38 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence and a 33-year-old female was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. 

SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 3:16 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 30-year-old female suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery. 

EAST: Damage to Property – 10:40 a.m.  Officers responded to the mall for a report of property damage.  Investigation continuing. 

NORTH: Check Person – 11:30 a.m.  Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject.  Subject contacted.  Final outcome pending. 

WEST: Death Investigation – 11:49 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (71-year-old male).  Medical Examiner's office responded.  Nothing suspicious identified at this time. 

EAST: Strong Armed Robbery – 12:05 p.m.  Teenage suspect is unable to pay for tennis shoes. Tries to steal the shoes and engages in a physical confrontation with the store employee.

NORTH: Conveyance Metal Health – 5:41 p.m. Officers called to help after a teen is spotted walking into traffic. Officers then sent to the teen's home for another situation. Journey Mental Health called.

NORTH: Arrested Person – 5:56 p.m. Officers conduct a traffic stop. A K9 alerts on the vehicle and two firearms are found inside. A 32-year-old male suspect was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

MIDTOWN: Death Investigation – 6:56 p.m. Staff at a senior housing center called police after a woman was found deceased. Death not considered to be suspicious.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 9:05 p.m. Man and woman get into an argument over a lost dog. A neighbor called to help. Argument turned physical. Suspect leaves the home and is later pulled over and arrested for OWI.

SOUTH: Battery – 9:53 p.m. Officers dispatched to a fast food restaurant after a driver was punched or honking at a car blocking his route.

EAST: Missing Adult – 11:21 p.m. Officers dispatched to help locate an adult missing from a residential facility.

CENTRAL: Threats Complaint – 11:58 p.m. Officers called to a home for a threats complaint. While there, victim receives complaints while police are present.

CENTRAL: Stolen Auto – 2:38 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. Owner said vehicle was locked with no keys inside.
