The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 11/18/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 11/21/2022, MPD received 975 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (203), East (217), Midtown (145), North (149), South (107), West (101), and Other (53). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

11/18

EAST: Road Rage – 9:40 a.m.  Dispatch received a report of two vehicles racing inbound on Atwood Ave.  One of the involved vehicles then crashed into a pole.  The other involved driver and suspect vehicle were not located.  Investigation continuing.

EAST: Stolen Auto – 11:53 a.m.  Staff at U-Haul reported a truck missing/stolen from their lot.  Attempt to locate aired.  The truck was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 6:02 p.m.  Officers located a 40-year-old male suspect wanted for multiple retail thefts.  The suspect was arrested and also cited for trespassing.

EAST: Check Person – 6:20 p.m.  Officers made contact with a subject who was suicidal.  The subject was voluntarily transported to the hospital and left in the care of hospital staff.

NORTH: Drug Incident/Investigation – 7:30 p.m.  Officers at the Kwik Trip at 1434 Northport Dr observed a vehicle involved in short term traffic and made contact with the vehicle where it stopped at Warner Park Beach.  Officers located marijuana, firearms, and a facsimile firearm in the vehicle.  All five occupants (four males ages 17, 18 and 19 years old and a 21-year-old female) were arrested for party to a crime possession with intent to deliver THC.  The female suspect was also charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 7:39 p.m.  An officer conducted a traffic stop and a 19-year-old subject/suspect was determined to be wanted.  The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

WEST: Disturbance – 8:27 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 30-year-old suspect who was shouting expletives and encouraging people to fight him.  The suspect scratched an employee who was attempting to escort him outside.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct, battery and resisting.

EAST: Disturbance – 11:29 p.m.  Officers responded to the men's shelter where the 32-year-old suspect flipped over a bed and then set a porta-potty outside the shelter on fire.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and arson.

Priority calls only from 3:09 p.m. to 4:25 p.m. due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 5:04 p.m. to 5:58 p.m. due to calls for service.  

CENTRAL: Battery – 1:55 a.m.  Officers made contact with two subjects who wished to report being involved in a fight earlier in the evening.  Officers were unable to develop probable cause for an arrest at this time as it was unclear who the predominant aggressor was.  Investigation continuing.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 2:09 a.m.  During a traffic stop, officers determined the 21-year-old suspect had a warrant.  The suspect was arrested on the warrant and also charged with obstructing.

WEST: Death Investigation – 6:07 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a family member discovered a 70-year-old subject deceased.  Nothing suspicious on scene.

SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 6:34 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where during an argument, the 21-year-old female suspect was throwing things at the 28-year-old male suspect.  The female suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and battery.  The male suspect was arrested for resisting/obstructing.

EAST: Check Person – 8:16 a.m.  Dispatch received several reports of a female subject running naked in the street.  Officers transported the subject to the hospital where she was left in the care of hospital staff.

WEST: Check Person – 1:50 p.m. Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention.  Journey Mental Health consulted.  An emergency detention sought and final outcome/placement pending.

CENTRAL: Traffic Stop – 2:44 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted.  A 38-year-old male suspect was arrested on an outstanding warrant.  The driver received a citation for lack of license plates on the vehicle and warned for having no insurance and operating while revoked. 

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 3:52 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 42-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct, disorderly conduct and domestic criminal damage to property. 

EAST: Juvenile Arrest – 5:00 p.m. A 15-year-old male was booked into the Juvenile Reception Center for criminal damage to property. 

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 7:13 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 15-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for battery by prisoner (disturbance took place at the Juvenile Reception Center between the suspect and another resident).

EAST: Intoxicated Driver - 8:26 p.m. Officers responded to a safety hazard of a vehicle stopped in traffic but still running.  Contact made with the driver/suspect (24-year-old male) who was found to be impaired.  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), open intoxicants, possession with intent to deliver THC, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.  

EAST: Residential Burglary – 8:28 p.m.  A homeowner reported items missing/stolen from his residence.  Video evidence reviewed.  Investigation continuing. 

MIDTOWN: Armed Robbery – 8:37 p.m. A victim reported being approached by several juveniles in ski masks asking him for money.  Two guns were produced by two of the juveniles.  The suspects fled on foot.  Investigation continuing. 

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 9:52 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 38-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct. 

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 9:52 p.m. Officers observed a 30-year-old male walking in traffic on foot.  The suspect was contacted and found to be impaired.  The suspect was taken to detox initially but was not cooperative.  The suspect was cited for sudden pedestrian movement and taken to jail to post on the citation.  

CENTRAL: Strong Armed Robbery – 10:14 p.m. A 28-year-old male suspect came up behind two victims and told them to "drop everything". The suspect was later located and arrested for strong armed robbery, possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation hold. 

MIDTOWN: Crash – 10:43 p.m. Officers responded to a crash.  A 58-year-old female driver/suspect was found to be impaired.  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense).

Priority calls only from 10:03 a.m to 11:32 a.m. due to calls for service. 

CENTRAL: Fire – 1:08 a.m. Officers responded to a dumpster fully engulfed behind the Nitty Gritty Restaurant.  Evacuation efforts put into place.  Traffic in the area shut down.  MFD has the lead on the fire investigation. 

EAST: Check Person – 10:18 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a woman yelling for a male to wake up.  The subject was conveyed to a local hospital.  Possible drug use involved.  Investigation continuing.    

SOUTH: Sexual Assault – 2:47 p.m. A victim reported being sexually assaulted.  Investigation continuing. 

EAST: Theft - 8:11 p.m. A 22-year-old male suspect was arrested for two felony counts of theft and several misdemeanor counts.  

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance - 10:50 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 36-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct while armed.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance - 1:10 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old male suspect.  Suspect not on scene when officers arrived.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. 

MIDTOWN: Runaway/Missing Juvenile - 1:36 a.m.A 16-year-old female was reported as missing/runaway.  Attempt to locate aired.  The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.
