The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 2/7/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 2/8/2024, MPD received 435 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (61),East (72), Midtown (71), North (92), South (56), West (74), and Other (9). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

WEST: Sexual Assault of a Child – 11:32 a.m. Detectives investigating a sexual assault of a child report. Investigation continuing.
NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 12:47 p.m. Two wanted subjects (2 20-year-old males) were located and arrested on outstanding charges/warrants.
EAST: Death Investigation – 1:30 p.m. Officers responded to a residence for a report of a deceased subject (83-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
NORTH: Violation of a Court Order – 3:24 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a violation of a court order involving a 24-year-old male subject, who remains at-large. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.
CENTRAL: Theft from Auto – 5:01 p.m. An unknown subject broke into a vehicle that was secured in an underground parking area. Items were taken from the vehicle. Investigation continuing.
CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 8:24 p.m. A 40-year-old male subject, wanted, was observed and taken into custody. The subject was arrested on the outstanding warrant and a new charge of possession of meth.
CENTRAL: Sexual Assault – 8:55 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault involving a 43-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for 2nd degree sexual assault, attempted battery to law enforcement, bail jumping and a probation/parole hold.

CENTRAL: Battery – 2:03 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a 22-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct and obstructing.
