MPD Daily Significant Calls 12/25/2017 to 12/26/2017

From 5:30 a.m. on 12/25/2017 through 5:30 a.m. on 12/26/2017, MPD received 178 calls for service.  This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. 

1) EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 6:51 a.m.  Officers responded to the 1000 block of N. Thompson Dr for a domestic disturbance between two subjects (37 year old HF victim and 28 year old HM suspect).  The victim reported that a verbal argument with the suspect turned physical and he placed his hands around her neck several times.  The victim also reported that the suspect kneed her in the abdomen and she is pregnant.  The suspect was arrested for domestic strangulation and disorderly conduct.  The victim was conveyed to a local hospital for an evaluation. 

2) CENTRAL: Non-Residential Burglary – 11:21 a.m.  Officers responded to a business in the 500 block of University Ave where an expensive item, along with cash, were stolen.  Investigation continuing. 

3) CENTRAL: Residential Burglary – 12:21 p.m.  Officers responded to Waunona Way where residents reported a burglary of their home while they were away for a few days.  Guns were stolen from the home.  Investigation continuing. 

4) CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 1:20 p.m.  Officers responded to the 1300 block of E. Johnson St for a domestic disturbance between two subjects (60 year old WM victim and his 21 year old WM son/suspect).  The suspect caused a disturbance at the residence which resulted in damage to the home.  The suspect was arrested for domestic criminal damage to property.

5) NORTH: Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 3:59 p.m.  Officers responded to a crash in the 1900 block of Loftsgorden Ave.  A vehicle crashed into a parked vehicle.  There were no subjects on scene.  The vehicle was found to be reported stolen. Investigation continuing. 

6) SOUTH: Stolen Auto – 6:36 p.m.  Officers responded to a vehicle stolen from the 1400 block of S. Park St.  The vehicle had been left unoccupied and running.  The vehicle was located abandoned several blocks away.  Investigation continuing. 

7) EAST: Weapons Offense/Shots Fired – 6:50 p.m.  Officers responded to the area of Bewick/Nakoosa for a report of shots fired.  Area checked, no evidence of shots fired located.  Area will need to be canvassed during daylight hours.  Investigation continuing.    

8) CENTRAL: Non-Residential Burglary – 8:31 p.m.  Officers responded to a business in the 900 block of Williamson St for a subject attempting to break into the store.  Officers cleared the building.  No subjects located.  Investigation continuing. 

9) SOUTH: Armed Robbery – 10:10 p.m.  Officers responded to an armed robbery at EDO Asian Cuisine in the 500 block of S. Park St where a victim/employee reported being robbed by a male with a hatchet.  The suspect (unknown race) fled the scene.  Press release completed.  Investigation continuing. 

10) CENTRAL: Operating While Intoxicated Arrest – 11:43 p.m.  An officer observed a vehicle driving the wrong way on Eastwood Ave.  A traffic stop was conducted and the driver (33 year old WM) was ultimately arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (3rd offense) and a probation violation.
