The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 10/28/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 10/31/2022, MPD received 1,262 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (334), East (250), Midtown (198), North (172), South (107), West (173), and Other (28). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 5:24 p.m. to 6:09 p.m. due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 9:38 p.m. to 12:03 a.m. due to calls for service.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 7:39 a.m.  Officers responded to a motel where a subject (32-year-old male) was located deceased.  Officers located needles in the room.  Nothing suspicious on scene.

WEST: Stolen Auto – 7:54 a.m.  The victim reported two vehicles in his garage were stolen overnight.  Attempt to located aired.  The vehicles were listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

MIDTOWN: Traffic Crash – 9:16 a.m.  Officers responded to the intersection of Odana Rd and S Midvale Blvd where two vehicles collided.  A witness stated the suspect vehicle ran a red light.  Investigation continuing.

WEST: Residential Burglary – 1:38 p.m.  The victim reported her car was stolen from her garage sometime overnight.  Attempt to located aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

SOUTH: Drug Overdose – 2:34 p.m.  Officers responded with MFD paramedics to a report of an unconscious subject/suspect.  MFD paramedics revived the suspect with naloxone.  The suspect was cited for possession of sched I/II narcotics.

MIDTOWN: Sex Offense Misc – 2:53 p.m.  Officers investigated a report that several juveniles were involved in sharing a nude picture of the victim with various other juveniles.  Investigation continuing.

WEST: Disorderly Conduct – 5:09 p.m.  Officers responded to a business where the suspect (57-year-old female) filled two bags with merchandise.  The manager asked the suspect to put the items back.  The suspect pulled out a knife and threatened to harm the manager. The suspect was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cocaine and disorderly conduct while armed.

MIDTOWN: Disturbance – 7:55 p.m.  Police responded to a residence where the suspect (12-year-old male) had tried to kick in the door to an apartment.  The suspect was cited and released.  A few minutes later a resident of the building began yelling that the suspect had locked him out of the building.  The suspect was subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct and conveyed to the Juvenile Reception Center.

WEST: Traffic Crash – 8:44 p.m.  A vehicle was traveling south on Gammon Rd near Watts Rd when 4 to 5 subjects ran across Gammon Rd.  One of the subjects running across the road, a juvenile, was struck by the vehicle and was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.  The driver remained on scene and was cooperative.  Investigation continuing.

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 9:03 p.m.  The victim reported that the suspect (29-year-old male) threatened to shoot her and then attempted to break into her apartment.  The suspect damaged a window but was unsuccessful in making entry to the residence.  Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for domestic disorderly conduct, damage to property and unlawful use of communication devices.  Suspect is at large.
 
EAST: Stolen Auto – 9:13 p.m.  A victim reported his vehicle was stolen.  The vehicle was later located and officers contacted two suspects (19- and 24-year-old females), one of whom admitted to driving the vehicle.  The 19-year-old suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent and possession of paraphernalia.  The 24-year-old suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent (passenger).

EAST: Intoxicated Driver – 9:46 p.m.  An officer observed a vehicle positioned oddly with subjects running from it.  Officers contacted the suspect (17-year-old female), who admitted to driving through the mall parking lot where she hit a light pole.  The suspect admitted to smoking marijuana.  The suspect performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).

CENTRAL: Weapons Offense Shots Fired – 12:54 a.m.  Officers responded to the area of Tenney Park for reports of shots fired.  Officers located one spent shell casing.  There were no reports of injured persons or damaged property. Investigation continuing. 

EAST: Weapons Offense Shots Fired – 3:27 a.m.  Officers responded to the 4600 block of Milwaukee St for reports of shots fired.  Investigation continuing.

WEST: Residential Burglary – 6:34 a.m.  The victim reported an unidentified suspect entered his home through the open garage door, took the keys to a vehicle and then stole the vehicle.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

WEST: Disturbance – 10:29 a.m.  Dispatch received multiple calls from witnesses at Woodman's grocery store reporting they observed an unidentified suspect beating a victim in the parking lot and breaking her car window.  The suspect fled the scene.  The victim was not cooperative with police.

MIDTOWN: Disturbance – 2:11 p.m.  Officers responded to a report of a fight in progress with a possible gun involved.  A 39-year-old male and 41-year-old male were arrested for disorderly conduct. 

EAST: Retail Theft – 6:22 p.m. A 37-year-old female suspect was arrested for felony retail theft (3 counts), resisting and an outstanding warrant.

CENTRAL: Check Person – 7:19 p.m.  Officers received a report of a suspicious person.  Contact was made with a 36-year-old male who was arrested for numerous drug-related charges. 

WEST: Adult Arrested Person – 7:25 p.m. A 37-year-old male suspect was arrested for theft of firearm from a vehicle. 

CENTRAL: Traffic Stop – 10:56 p.m.  A traffic stop was conducted.  A 35-year-old female was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation violation.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 2:07 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 23-eyar-old female suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. 

WEST: Disturbance – 4:19 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 29-year-old female suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting and a parole hold. 

CENTRAL: Residential Burglary – 9:41 a.m. Officers responded to a residential burglary that occurred overnight.  Items reported missing/stolen. Investigation continuing.

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 10:07 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 43-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic battery. 

SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 11:24 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 40-year-old male suspect.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. 

WEST: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 12:29 p.m.  A 14-year-old female was reported as missing/runaway.  Attempt to locate aired.  The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases. 

SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 2:54 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 37-year-old female suspect.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once she is contacted. 

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 5:30 p.m.  A wanted suspect (49-year-old male) was located and taken into custody on numerous outstanding charges. 

NORTH: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 6:15 p.m.  A 14-year-old female was reported as missing/runaway.  Attempt to locate aired.  The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases. 

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 9:18 p.m. Officers responded to a threats complaint involving a 67-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct (hate crime enhancer).

MIDTOWN: Mental Health Conveyance – 10:59 p.m. Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention.  Transport pending. 

CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 11:24 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a reckless driver.  A traffic stop was conducted and the driver/suspect (28-year-old male) was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense with a passenger under the age of 16). 

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 11:27 p.m. Officers responded to a report of an unwanted subject/suspect (27-year-old male).  The suspect was arrested for trespassing, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation hold.

SOUTH: Disturbance – 12:18 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 26-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. 

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 1:34 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 36-year-old female suspect.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once she is contacted.
