The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 08/11/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 08/14/2023, MPD received 1,180 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (239), East (251), Midtown (185), North (183), South (116), West (173), and Other (33). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 2:12 p.m. to 3:11 p.m. due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 6:31 p.m. to 8:14 p.m. due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 10:16 p.m. to 12:02 a.m. due to calls for service.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 4:51 a.m. Officers contacted a 39-year-old male subject found sleeping naked in a vehicle that did not belong to him. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting.

MIDTOWN: Traffic Arrest – 10:00 a.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop. The 20-year-old male driver was arrested for possession with intent to deliver THC.

EAST: Residential Burglary – 12:06 p.m. Officers responded to a residence to investigate a report of a burglary. Investigation continuing.

MIDTOWN: Check Person – 3:23 p.m. Officers made contact with a female subject who was running into traffic. She was placed into protective custody and transported to a hospital. Officers consulted with Journey Mental Health who supported an emergency detention. Final outcome/placement pending.

SOUTH: Check Person – 4:08 p.m. Journey Mental Health requested that officers respond to detox to place a male subject into protective custody. The subject was transported to a hospital. Final outcome/placement pending.

WEST: Death Investigation – 4:56 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (81-year-old female). Nothing suspicious identified on scene.

NORTH: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 7:33 p.m. A 14-year-old female subject was reported as missing/runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.  

EAST: Death Investigation – 9:12 p.m. Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (60-year-old male subject). Drug use suspected. Medical examiner responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.

Priority calls only from 4:51 p.m. to 8:25 p.m. due to calls for service.

CENTRAL: Disorderly Conduct – 1:12 a.m. Officers responded to a business where the 29-year-old male subject had urinated in a refrigerator. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.

NORTH: Intoxicated Driver – 2:28 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted. The 43-year-old male driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (6th offense), possession of marijuana, possession of MDMA, and resisting.

MIDTOWN: Death Investigation – 10:03 a.m. Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (59-year-old male). Nothing suspicious identified on scene.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 3:38 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 61-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.

SOUTH: Disturbance – 4:28 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a fight and shots fired. A firearm was recovered. Casings located/recovered. A 31-year-old male subject was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, carrying a concealed weapon, battery and disorderly conduct while armed.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 10:19 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted and a 33-year-old male subject was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, felony receiving stolen property and a probation/parole hold.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 11:52 p.m. Officers observed a fight in progress. A 25-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting and bail jumping. A 22-year-old female subject was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct.

MIDTOWN: Disturbance – 11:58 p.m. Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject (31-year-old female) causing a disturbance.  The subject was given an order-in for battery to healthcare provider (2 counts).

08/13

Priority calls only from 2:02 a.m. to 5:04 a.m. due to calls for service.  

EAST: Recovered/Stolen Auto – 2:32 a.m. A stolen vehicle was observed. A traffic stop was attempted but the driver/vehicle fled. Vehicle successfully spiked and the driver/subject (42-year-old male) attempted to flee on foot. The subject was apprehended and arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent, fleeing/eluding, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting and an outstanding warrant.

SOUTH: Drug Incident – 4:45 a.m. Officers responded to a local hospital for a report of a child with marijuana in their system. Child Protective Services plugged in. Investigation continuing.

MIDTOWN: Residential Burglary – 5:00 a.m. Officers responded to a residential burglary. Forced entry observed. Cash reported missing. Investigation continuing.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 11:02 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence to check the welfare of a subject (33-year-old female). Entry made and the subject was located deceased (suicide). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

EAST: Missing Adult – 3:16 p.m. Two subjects (60-year-old female and 25-year-old female) were reported as missing after not returning home from a day at Devil's Lake. Phone ping conducted. Richland County plugged in to assist. Investigation continuing. *Both subjects located deceased in a vehicle. Death appears to be murder/suicide. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.  

SOUTH: Sexual Assault of a Child – 4:53 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault of a child. Child Protective Services notified. Investigation continuing.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 6:05 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and felony bail jumping (2 counts).

MIDTOWN: Check Person – 10:13 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. Phone ping attempted. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The subject (46-year-old male) was listed as missing/endangered.

EAST: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 10:15 p.m. A 15-year-old female was reported as missing/runaway. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 1:06 a.m. A 34-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting and discharging bodily fluids at a public safety worker.

WEST: Recovered/Stolen Auto – 2:59 a.m. A vehicle was located with damage in a parking lot.  The owner was contacted and determined the vehicle had been stolen. Investigation continuing.
