The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Tuesday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 06/17/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 06/21/2022, MPD received 1,919 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (326), East (398), Midtown (244), North (381), South (149), West (270), and Other (151). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

06/17

NORTH: Child Abuse – 1:18 a.m.  Officers contacted a juvenile victim who reported the 44-year-old suspect, his mother, had struck and bit him.  The suspect was arrested for physical abuse of a child. Child Protective Services notified.

MIDTOWN: Check Person – 3:02 a.m.  Officers responded to a hospital to contact a subject who was making suicidal statements.  Officers consulted with Journey Mental Health and determined the subject was safe and did not need in-patient treatment. 

MIDTOWN: Stolen Auto – 6:10 a.m.  The victim reported that her car was stolen.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

NORTH: Trespass – 6:39 a.m.  A maintenance worker reported that a former tenant/suspect (34-year-old male) was in the apartment from which he had been evicted.  The suspect was arrested for trespass and damage to property.

CENTRAL: Mental Health Conveyance – 1:44 p.m.  Officers made contact with a subject who was yelling, attempting to enter vehicles and residences, and stealing mail.  Officers transported the subject to a hospital where she was voluntarily admitted.

NORTH: Disturbance – 2:36 p.m.  During an argument the suspect (30-year-old male) slammed a door, causing damage, and grabbed the victim by the neck.  Officers developed probable cause to charge the suspect with physical abuse of a child, disorderly conduct, damage to property and trespass.  Suspect is at large.

CENTRAL: Non-Residential Burglary – 4:00 p.m.  Officers responded to a business where a manager observed the unidentified suspect enter a rear door and take two purses.  Investigation continuing.

NORTH: Drug Overdose – 4:27 p.m.  Officers contacted a suspect (37-year-old male) in the 4800 block of E Washington Ave who had overdosed on heroin.  The suspect was arrested for trespass, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 5:40 p.m.  The victim reported that during an argument, the suspect (30-year-old male) broke a door in the residence and threatened her.  The suspect was arrested for domestic damage to property and disorderly conduct.

MIDTOWN: Runaway Juvenile – 9:56 p.m.  A mother reported her 12-year-old daughter had run away.  Attempt to locate aired.  The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.

EAST: Intoxicated Driver – 10:47 pm.  Officers responded to the 2400 block of Atwood Ave where a vehicle had crashed into a parked car and then veered into some bushes.  The suspect (39-year-old male) was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).

CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 11:02 pm.  Officers contacted a suspect (39-year-old male) slumped over in the driver seat of a running parked car.  The suspect was cited for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).

Priority calls only from 10:37 p.m. to 11:35 p.m. due to calls for service.

CENTRAL: Traffic Stop – 12:27 a.m.  Officers conducted a traffic stop at Langdon St and N Henry St.  Officers detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and conducted a search.  The suspect (24-year-old male) was arrested for with possession with intent to deliver THC, possession with intent MDMA, operating after suspension and failure to display plates.

CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 12:55 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of a driver/suspect (42-year-old male) unconscious in a vehicle.  The suspect was determined to be impaired.  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, threats to law enforcement and resisting. 

SOUTH: Disturbance – 1:09 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where the caller believed someone was trying to break in.  Officers arrested a suspect (39-year-old male) for disorderly conduct.

NORTH: Suspicious Vehicle – 1:24 a.m.  Officers responded to the 4700 block of Hayes Rd where several suspects were seen in a parking lot attempting to break into vehicles.  The suspects fled the scene.  Investigation continuing.

NORTH: Suspicious Vehicle – 1:36 a.m.  An officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle in the area of E Washington Ave and East Springs Dr.  The suspect vehicle fled the stop and officers did not pursue.  Investigation continuing.

WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 1:51 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 30-year-old female suspect.  The suspect was arrested for physical abuse to a child, battery, domestic disorderly conduct while armed and bail jumping (2 counts). 

MIDTOWN: Weapons Violation – 3:15 a.m.  Officers responded to the 4600 block of Verona Rd for reports of shots fired.  A bullet fragment was located.  No reports of injuries or property damage.  Investigation continuing. 

MIDTOWN: Disturbance – 3:30 a.m.  Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject/suspect (45-year-old female) causing a disturbance.  The suspect was arrested for threats to hospital staff, criminal damage to property, trespass to medical facility and disorderly conduct. 

EAST: Fight Call – 6:21 a.m.  Officers responded to the 4500 block of Milwaukee St where multiple callers to dispatch reported a group of approximately 20-30 people fighting in the street.  Upon officers' arrival, the involved subjects fled the area and no one was willing to talk to police.

EAST: Stolen Auto – 7:26 a.m.  The victim reported her vehicle was stolen sometime overnight.  Attempt to locate aired and the vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

NORTH: Stolen Auto – 9:01 a.m.  The victim reported her vehicle was stolen sometime overnight.  Attempt to locate aired and the vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

CENTRAL: Check Person – 10:16 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a subject was reportedly suicidal.  The subject was taken into protective custody and transported to a hospital.  Officers consulted with Journey Mental Health.  The subject was admitted to a local facility and officers disengaged. 

WEST: Death Investigation – 2:53 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (73-year-old male).  Medical Examiner's office responded.  Nothing suspicious identified.

NORTH: Disturbance – 3:54 p.m.  Officers received a report of a disturbance involving a gun that occurred a few days prior.  Investigation continuing. 

SOUTH: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 4:21 p.m.  A 14-year-old female was reported as missing/runaway.  Attempt to locate aired.  The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.  **Juvenile located safe. 

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 6:24 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 39-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, battery, intimidation of a victim, criminal damage to property and felony bail jumping. 

WEST: Stolen Auto – 7:45 p.m.  Two vehicles were reported stolen.  Attempt to locate aired and the vehicles were listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.  **One vehicle located/recovered. 

WEST: Check Person – 8:40 p.m.  Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject.  The subject was conveyed to a local hospital.  Journey Mental Health consulted.  Final outcome pending. 

EAST: Intoxicated Driver – 9:26 p.m.  Officers responded to a crash involving a 39-year-old male driver/suspect.  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense) and carrying a concealed weapon. 

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 10:26 p.m.  A traffic stop was conducted and a 20-year-old male suspect was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of illegal substances (mushrooms).  The suspect was also cited for open intoxicants. 

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 11:16 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 39-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery. 

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 11:51 p.m.  A traffic stop was conducted and the driver/suspect (26-year-old male) was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent.

Priority calls only from 6:21 p.m. to 11:12 p.m. due to calls for service.

MIDTOWN: Check Area – 1:04 a.m.  Officers responded to sounds of shots fired in the 4600 block of Verona Rd.  No evidence of shots fired located. 

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 3:08 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 25-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, disorderly conduct, possession of schedule II narcotics and outstanding warrants. 

EAST: Disturbance – 5:28 a.m.  Officers responded to a fight call that escalated to a report of shots fired.  Several vehicles were leaving the area as officers arrived.  No injuries reported.  Shell casings located.  Investigation continuing. 

NORTH: Recovered/Stolen Auto – 6:44 a.m.  A stolen vehicle was located/recovered.  Attempts made to contact registered owner. 

NORTH: Recovered/Stolen Auto – 12:42 p.m.  A stolen vehicle was located/recovered.  Attempts made to contact registered owner. 

WEST: Stolen Auto – 4:39 p.m.  A vehicle was reported stolen.  Areas checked.  Attempt to locate aired. 

NORTH: Death Investigation – 6:11 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (68-year-old male).  Medical Examiner's office responded.  Nothing suspicious identified. 

NORTH: Disturbance – 6:14 p.m.  Officers responded to a large disturbance at Demetral Park with firearms being displayed.  Two firearms were seized.  A 32-year-old male suspect was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm (2 counts).  A 32-year-old male suspect was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, obstruction, probation/parole hold and several outstanding warrants.  Incident Report on MPD's website completed. 

SOUTH: Disturbance – 7:57 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 36-year-old male.  Suspect not on scene.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. 

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 8:19 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 50-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct, battery, felony bail jumping (2 counts) and misdemeanor bail jumping. 

SOUTH: Disturbance – 9:34 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance on Bram Street.  A 35-year-old female and 37-year-old male were arrested for disorderly conduct and battery. 

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 10:17 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance on State Street.  Investigation continuing. 

EAST: Disturbance – 11:00 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 30-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct and a probation/parole hold.

NORTH: Stolen Auto – 4:28 a.m.  A vehicle was reported stolen.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases. 

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 5:11 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 24-year-old female suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and misdemeanor bail jumping. 

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 5:43 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 53-year-old female suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic 2nd degree reckless endangering safety and disorderly conduct. 

NORTH: Stolen Auto – 5:50 a.m.  A vehicle was reported stolen.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases

NORTH: Stolen Auto – 8:44 a.m.  A vehicle was reported stolen.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

NORTH: Recovered/Stolen Auto – 9:18 a.m.  A stolen vehicle was located/recovered from a parking lot. 

CENTRAL: Crash – 11:00 a.m.  Officers responded to the 1000 block of Williamson Street reference a vehicle/driver that crashed into a building.  The driver of the vehicle suffered a medical/health incident prior to the crash occurring.  Driver sustained minor injuries.  No other injuries reported.  Incident Report on MPD's website completed. 

WEST: Check Person – 12:03 p.m.  Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject and her four children.  Areas checked without success.  Investigation continuing. 

NORTH: Death Investigation – 1:50 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (72-year-old female).  Medical Examiner's office responded.  Nothing suspicious identified. 

NORTH: Injured Person – 2:33 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence after a minor was injured by fireworks.  The minor was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries/burns.  Investigation continuing. 

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 2:52 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 52-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct, battery, strangulation and false imprisonment (domestic-related). 

CENTRAL: Recovered/Stolen Auto – 3:22 p.m.  A vehicle was towed and found to be stolen.  Registered owner notified.    

WEST: Sexual Assault of a Child – 3:44 p.m.  Officers received a report of sexual assault of a child.  Child Protective Services plugged in.  Investigation continuing. 

NORTH: Missing Child – 5:27 p.m.  A child was reported missing after not being dropped off on the bus from an after-school/summer program.  The child was located safe by a community member and returned home.

SOUTH: Traffic Incident – 7:54 p.m. Officers responded to a rollover crash involving a vehicle that had been reported as driving recklessly.  The occupants in the suspect vehicle fled on foot.  The suspect vehicle was stolen.  The suspects were located/detained.  No injuries reported. All subjects (all juveniles) arrested on various charges – operating a motor vehicle without consent, reckless driving, hit-and-run.  Incident Report on MPD's website completed.   

WEST: Death Investigation – 8:39 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (53-year-old male).  Medical Examiner's office responded.  Nothing suspicious identified. 

WEST: Attempted Armed Robbery – 9:16 p.m.  A victim reported being physically assaulted by an unknown suspect.  The victim was conveyed to a local hospital.  Investigation continuing.   

MIDTOWN: Death Investigation – 10:29 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (63-year-old male).  Medical Examiner's office responded.  Nothing suspicious identified at this time.  Investigation continuing. 

EAST: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 11:13 p.m.  A 13-year-old female was reported as missing/runaway.  Attempt to locate aired.  The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.   

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 11:28 p.m.  Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject.  A 34-year-old female suspect was arrested for possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and child neglect.

MIDTOWN: Non-Residential Burglary – 1:50 a.m.  Officers responded to an alarm at a business and found that entry was made.  Items stolen from the business.  Investigation continuing.
