The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 5/20/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 5/21/2025, MPD received 423 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (61),East (84), Midtown (87), North (70), South (38), West (74), and Other (9). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Central/Domestic Disturbance – 4:46am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 56-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic strangulation, domestic battery, and domestic disorderly conduct.
East/Assist MFD – 5:58am: Officers responded, along with MFD, to a structure fire on Blossom Lane. Fire isolated to a basement unit. No injuries reported. Investigation continuing.
Midtown/Death Investigation – 7:44am: Officers responded to a report of an 87-year-old female subject deceased at an assisted living facility. DNR in place. Nothing suspicious identified. Medical Examiner's office responded.
North/Check Person – 9:08am: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was contacted and transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. The subject agreed to voluntary services. Safety plan developed. Officers disengaged.
North/Sexual Assault – 7:09pm: Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault. Investigation continuing.
West/Check Area – 10:48pm: Officers responded to numerous reports of shots fired. Areas checked. No evidence of shots fired located at this time.

West/Check Area – 12:33am: Officers responded to reports of shots fired. Casing located/recovered. No reported property damage or injuries at this time.
East/Domestic Disturbance – 4:24am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 23-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
West/Domestic Disturbance – 6:36am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 40-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct, and bail jumping (2 counts).
