The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 6/11/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 6/12/2025, MPD received 403 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (69),East (78), Midtown (65), North (72), South (50), West (60), and Other (9). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Midtown/Mental Health Conveyance – 6:11am: A subject was taken into protective custody, transported to a local hospital, and an emergency detention was sought/approved. The subject was subsequently transported to Winnebago.
South/Mental Health Conveyance – 8:13am: A subject under a Chapter 51 commitment needed to be transported to a more restrictive setting. The subject was transported to a local hospital for a medical clearance. Placement pending. *Local placement secured; transport completed.
East/Trespass – 10:05am: A 43-year-old female subject was at a business she is banned from. The officer asked her to leave which she did initially. The subject returned and refused to leave. The subject was arrested for unlawful trespass after notification.
East/Weapons Offense – 2:32pm: Officers responded to a report of shots fired. A victim was located with multiple gunshot wounds (non-life threatening). The victim was transported to a local hospital. Investigation continuing.
Central/Disturbance – 7:45pm: Officers responded to a report of two subjects who were physically assaulted by 10-12 other subjects while on State Street. Area checked – no subjects located.
Central/Disturbance – 9:01pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 16-year-old male subject. The subject was cited for disorderly conduct and released to a responsible party.
Central/Disturbance – 11:34pm: Officers responded to a report of a large fight at the BRT station on E. Washington Avenue. 7 juveniles were cited for disorderly conduct with restorative justice referrals – except for one subject who was 17. Juveniles released to responsible parties.
