The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 4/30/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 5/1/2025, MPD received 461 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (71),East (107), Midtown (75), North (70), South (61), West (65), and Other (12). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

North/Strong Armed Robbery – 6:44am: A subject entered a convenience store and attempted to steal merchandise. The store employee ran after the subject. The subject grabbed the employee by the shirt and ripped a necklace off, breaking it. Subject fled in a vehicle. Investigation continuing.
West/Check Person – 8:40am: A witness reported observing a subject fall out of a vehicle onto the roadway with the vehicle continuing on. The subject was initially uncooperative with officers and conveyed to a local hospital where they were sedated due to their injuries. Registered owner of the vehicle contacted and they advised they had loaned the vehicle out to an acquaintance (not located/contacted). Investigation continuing.
North/Stolen Auto – 8:41am: A stolen vehicle was observed. A traffic stop was attempted but the driver/vehicle fled. Vehicle located unoccupied. Investigation continuing.
West/Armed Robbery – 12:20pm: Officers responded to a report that the caller was robbed by gunpoint. Investigation continuing. *A 19-year-old male subject was identified, located, and taken into custody. A gun was recovered. The subject was charged with robbery while armed (2 counts).
West/Mental Health Conveyance – 4:38pm: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of a Chapter 51 return. Transport to Winnebago pending. *Transported completed.
Central/Adult Arrested Person – 6:36pm: Officers responded to a report of a stolen scooter. The scooter was tracked via an Airtag. A 60-year-old male subject was arrested for theft, bail jumping (misdemeanor and felony), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
East/Adult Arrested Person – 7:48pm: Officers responded to a retail theft in progress involving a 38-year-old male subject. The subject fled on foot but was apprehended by officers. The subject was arrested on 6 outstanding warrants, possession of meth, possession of cocaine, retail theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting.

Midtown/Domestic Disturbance – 2:21am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 20-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic strangulation and battery.
East/Mental Health Conveyance – 4:43am: Officers responded to a report of a subject getting physical with staff and in need of an emergency detention. Final outcome pending.
