The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 05/12/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 05/13/2025, MPD received 494 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (84), East (117), Midtown (90), North (63), South (48), West (80), and Other (12). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Priority calls only from 9:48pm to 12:48am and from 4:45am to 5:11am due to calls for service.

NORTH: OMVWI – 4:39 am. An officer observed a vehicle being operated without license plates and conducted a traffic stop. The 47-year-old male suspect/driver was arrested and charged with OWI 5th and cited for operating after revoked.
EAST: Violation of Court Order – 4:49 am. Officers arrested a 65-year-old male suspect who violated a 72 hour no contact provision.
EAST: Disturbance – 6:39 am. Staff at the men's shelter reported that the 37-year-old male suspect pulled a knife on another guest. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct while armed.
CENTRAL: Battery – 10:22 am. Officers took into custody a 21-year-old male suspect who assaulted a Metro Transit bus driver. The suspect was charged with battery to public transit operator, disorderly conduct, resisting and bail jumping.
NORTH: Strong Arm Robbery – 10:50 am. Officers responded to East High School where the 15-year-old male suspect beat and robbed a victim in a bathroom. The suspect was arrested and charged with robbery and battery and taken to JRC.
NORTH: Adult Arrest Warrant – 11:02 am. Officers took into custody a 24-year-old female suspect who had warrants for her arrest.
EAST: Death Investigation – 1:26 pm. Officers responded to a residence where a 79-year-old woman passed away in the care of hospice. Nothing suspicious on scene.
SOUTH: Disturbance Unwanted Person – 2:36 pm. Officers responded to a motel where the 71-year-old female suspect was causing a disturbance. The suspect was arrested on a warrant and newly charged with disorderly conduct.
CENTRAL: Strong Arm Robbery – 2:42 pm. Officers responded to a bank where the 39-year-old male suspect stole money from behind the counter. The suspect was arrested and charged with robbery of financial institution and resisting.
MIDTOWN: Assist EMS/Fire – 3:55 pm. Officers responded to a business where there was an explosion in a lab. MFD paramedics transported one victim to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
EAST: Trespass – 5:20 pm. Officers responded to Woodman's where a 38-year-old female suspect was trespassing. The suspect was arrested and charged with trespass and multiple counts of bail jumping.
MIDTOWN: Stalking Complaint – 6:17 pm. Officers issued a stalking letter to a 21-year-old male suspect who the victim reported had been following her.
MIDTOWN: Weapons Offense – 9:38 pm. Officers responded to a parking lot in the 4600 block of Atticus Way where the 52-year-old female suspect stabbed the victim. The suspect was arrested and charged with 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, disorderly conduct and resisting.
SOUTH: OMVWI – 10:17 pm. A Schmidt's tow truck driver reported to dispatch a possibly impaired driver. The 26-year-old male driver was arrested and charged with OWI 2nd, resisting, battery to LE and multiple traffic citations.
CENTRAL: Check Property – 11:08 pm. Multiple callers to dispatch reported possible gunshots and a vehicle leaving at a high rate of speed. Officers did not locate any signs of a disturbance or gunfire.
05/13
CENTRAL: Check Person – 1:20 am. Officers made contact with a 26-year-old male suspect who a witness reported was involved in a disturbance. The suspect provided a false name to officers. Officers located marijuana and a large amount of cash on the suspect's person. The suspect was arrested and charged with possession w/ intent THC and obstruction.
CENTRAL: Mental Health Conveyance – 3:02 am. Officers assisted Journey Mental Health with an emergency detention.
MIDTOWN: Weapons Offense Shots Fired – 3:40 am. Staff at a local hospital reported a patient had arrived with a gunshot wound. Officers made contact with the victim whose injury was not life threatening. The victim was uncooperative with officers. Investigation continuing.
