The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 5/2/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 5/5/2025, MPD received 1,283 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (255),East (286), Midtown (178), North (224), South (138), West (173), and Other (29). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

East/Stolen Auto – 1:03pm: A vehicle was stolen from Columbia County and tracked to Madison. The vehicle was located. A 42-year-old male subject was arrested on probable cause/outstanding warrant. The subject consented to a search of his residence. While he was handcuffed, the subject jumped out of a second story window and fled on foot. The subject was apprehended. Additional charges added – escape, burglary, and criminal damage to property.
East/Death Investigation – 3:26pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (82-year-old female). Lifesaving measures attempted but they were not successful. Nothing suspicious identified.
West/Missing Adult – 6:42pm: A 68-year-old male subject was reported as missing. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. Silver Alert issued.
West/Domestic Disturbance – 9:42pm: Officers received information about a disturbance involving a 20-year-old male subject. Attempts made to contact the subject were unsuccessful. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
East/Crash – 10:26pm: Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries. A 57-year-old male driver/subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence causing injury (1st offense). Two subjects conveyed to a local hospital for evaluations/treatment.
East/Domestic Disturbance – 11:29pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 43-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
Midtown/Domestic Disturbance – 11:37pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 20-year-old male subject. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.

North/Adult Arrested Person – 12:03am: Officers responded to an unknown problem. A 45-year-old male subject was contacted and was arrested for disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property, and resisting.
East/Domestic Disturbance – 4:55pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 47-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
West/Death Investigation – 7:27am: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (87-year-old female). Nothing suspicious identified.
North/Armed Robbery – 1:13pm: A subject reported being robbed of cash and a cell phone. Investigation continuing.
South/Domestic Disturbance – 3:11pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 21-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct while armed, disorderly conduct while armed, domestic false imprisonment, false imprisonment, and battery.
East/Adult Arrested Person – 6:47pm: Officers responded to a report of a 48-year-old subject drinking in a convenience store parking lot. The subject began waving around a fixed blade knife. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed (2 counts), possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and 3 counts of felony bail jumping.
Central/Adult Arrested Person – 10:25pm: A 21-year-old male subject, banned from State Street, was observed on State Street. Officers made contact and the subject actively resisted them. The subject was arrested for attempted battery to law enforcement, resisting, and bail jumping.
South/Crash – 11:06pm: Officers responded to a roll-over crash. A 27-year-old male driver/subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.

East/Crash – 2:55am: A 29-year-old female driver/subject was driving the wrong way, resulting in a minor head-on collision with a squad/officer. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.
Midtown/Intoxicated Driver – 6:11am: Officers responded to single-vehicle crash with a report of the 34-year-old male driver/subject fleeing on foot. The subject was contacted. The subject initially reported his vehicle was stolen before he admitted to driving the vehicle. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. The subject was also issued traffic citations.
North/Death Investigation – 8:09am: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (63-year-old male). Decedent had a history of health/medical concerns. Nothing suspicious identified.
Midtown/Mental Health Conveyance – 9:29am: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention. Subject admitted to the hospital for medical issues at this time. Officers disengaged for now.
East/Intoxicated Driver – 12:35pm: A traffic stop was conducted. The driver/subject (46-year-old male) continued driving for several blocks before coming to a stop. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).
East/Disturbance – 3:05pm: Officers responded to a verbal argument between neighbors. A 31-year-old female subject was issued an order-in for disorderly conduct.
Central/Death Investigation – 4:33pm: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (30-year-old female). Lifesaving measures attempted but they were not successful. Decedent had a history of mental health/medical concerns. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time. Autopsy scheduled.
East/Death Investigation – 5:05pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (77-year-old female). Nothing suspicious identified.
Midtown/Mental Health Conveyance – 5:07pm: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention. Subject placed at a local facility.
South/Adult Arrested Person – 6:15pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 45-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct while armed.
West/Missing Adult – 9:36pm: A 77-year-old female subject was reported as missing. Silver Alert issued.
South/Death Investigation – 10:01pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (46-year-old male). Decedent had health/medical concerns. Nothing suspicious identified.
South/Fraud – 10:24pm: A victim reported having their wallet stolen. Wallet was tracked to a business. A 21-year-old male subject, who had bail conditions to not be in the business, was present. He was arrested for bail jumping and resisting. Additional follow-up necessary reference the stolen wallet.
