The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 5/9/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 5/12/2025, MPD received 1,347 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (306),East (292), Midtown (202), North (214), South (140), West (160), and Other (33). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 10:55pm to 1:15am due to calls for service.

North/Recovered Stolen Auto – 8:52am: A stolen vehicle was located/recovered. The vehicle was determined to have been stolen from a dealership.

East/PNB Response – 9:27am: Officers responded, along with EMS, to a report of a pulseless non-breathing infant. The child was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Investigation continuing.

West/Adult Arrested Person – 10:01am: A 31-year-old male subject, with an active warrant, was located and conveyed to jail.

South/Runaway Juvenile – 10:30am: A 14-year-old female subject was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The minor was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.

East/Adult Arrested Person – 2:57pm: Officers responded to a report of a 33-year-old male subject in a public restroom with drug paraphernalia in plain sight. The subject was contacted by officers and subsequently arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of fentanyl, misdemeanor bail jumping, and felony bail jumping (2 counts).

Central/Disturbance – 3:08pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 59-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for battery, disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor bail jumping.

East/Death Investigation – 3:45pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of 69-year-old male subject. Entry made to the residence and the subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

East/Check Person – 7:44pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. SWAT negotiators made contact with the subject, who ultimately agreed to come off a 4th floor ledge. The subject was transported to a local hospital for voluntary help. Officers disengaged.

West/Adult Arrested Person – 8:18pm: A 17-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed after witnessed observed him hold a knife up to another subject's neck.

East/Domestic Disturbance – 10:42pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 72-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and felon in possession of a firearm.

West/Check Area – 11:37pm: Officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired (S. Gammon Rd/Park Ridge Dr). No casings, damage, or blood located. Video footages showed a female lumping until a vehicle picked her up.  Areas checked.  Hospital notified. Investigation continuing.

Priority calls only from 5:07pm to 6:41pm due to calls for service.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 2am: A 22-year-old male subject attempted to do a worm in front of a squad, chugged his beer, threw down and broke his glass in the roadway, and then ran from the area. The subject was apprehended. The subject spit at officers. The subject's friend (21-year-old male) attempted to interview and pushed an officer. The 22-year-old was arrested for resisting, disorderly conduct, and cited for open intoxicants and littering. The 21-year-old was arrested for obstructing.

North/Crash – 3:29am: Officers responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a 49-year-old female driver/subject. The subject was found to be impaired and was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence  (1st offense).

North/Sexual Assault – 4:08am: Officers received a report of ongoing sexual assault. Investigation continuing.

South/Sexual Assault – 5:16am: Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault. Incident Report on MPD's website completed - https://www.cityofmadison.com/police/newsroom/incidentreports/incident.cfm?id=32435

West/Disturbance – 3:25pm: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Uncooperative party on scene. No injuries reported or observed. No charges developed.

East/Adult Arrested Person – 4:05pm: Officers responded, along with EMS, to a report of a 25-year-old male subject on the ground and needing some sort of help. The subject was not cooperative but needed medical attention. Officers detained the subject, who actively resisted them. The subject was transported to a local hospital. After a medical clearance was obtained, the subject was arrested for resisting, misdemeanor bail jumping, and felony bail jumping (2 counts).

South/Disturbance – 5:35pm: Officers responded to a disturbance. A subject was transported to a local hospital and an emergency detention was explored. Final outcome pending. *Subject transported to Winnebago for placement.

North/Death Investigation – 5:47pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 63-year-old female subject. Entry made to the residence and the subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

Central/Disturbance – 8:02pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.

East/Check Person – 8:49pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject walking in traffic on Stoughton Rd near Buckeye Rd. Officers went to detain the subject, when they actively resisted. The subject was transported to a local hospital where an emergency detention was sought/approved. The subject was subsequently conveyed to Winnebago.

Priority calls only from 5:44pm to 9:06pm due to calls for service.

Central/Traffic Arrest – 1:31am: A traffic stop was conducted. The driver was on paper for eluding. An Act 79 search was conducted which yielded THC and a loaded gun. A 20-year-old male subject was arrested for possession with intent to deliver THC (party to a crime) and a DOC hold. A 19-year-old male subject was arrested for possession with intent to deliver THC (party to a crime) and a DOC hold. A 20-year-old male subject was arrested for possession with intent to deliver THC (party to a crime) and carrying a concealed weapon.

North/Intoxicated Driver – 2:29am: A traffic stop was conducted. The driver/subject (57-year-old female) was found to be impaired. She was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense) and possession of cocaine. The subject was cited for operating after suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia.

East/Domestic Disturbance – 3:21am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct, battery, disorderly conduct, and misdemeanor bail jumping. *Subject bailed out of jail and violated his 72-hour no contact order. He was arrested a second time for violation of the order.

East/Domestic Disturbance – 12:32pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 48-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct (2 counts).

Midtown/Crash – 2:33pm: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. motorcycle crash. A passenger on the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital with injuries (non-life threatening). The driver of the vehicle was cited for failure to yield right of way.

East/Robbery – 3:02pm: Officers responded to a delayed report of a stabbing and robbery. Explanation of what occurred changed several times from the reporting party. Areas checked. Cameras checked. Minor injuries sustained by the victim. Investigation continuing.

Central/Intoxicated Driver – 5:01pm: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash. The driver/subject (24-year-old male) was found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for 1st degree recklessly endangering safety, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, and cited for numerous traffic violations. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.

West/Disturbance – 6:49pm: Officers responded to a report of several juveniles fighting at Elver Park. While officers were on scene, several adults began fighting. Numerous arrests made (details not available at this time).

North/Domestic Disturbance – 6:49pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 20-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

South/Disturbance – 10:58pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 59-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
