The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 7/9/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 7/10/2025, MPD received 452 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (80),East (78), Midtown (76), North (58), South (73), West (74), and Other (13). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Midtown/Mental Health Conveyance – 9:24am: Officers responded to a local hospital for a Chapter 51 return. The subject was transported to Winnebago.
West/Retail Theft – 2:51pm: Officers responded to a retail theft in progress involving a 49-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for retail theft, obstructing, and a parole violation.
North/Domestic Disturbance – 3:12pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving an 18-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
South/Vehicle Fire – 6:16pm: Officers responded to a vehicle on fire in the flex lane. Lanes closed. No injuries. MFD on scene. Fire extinguished. Lanes re-opened.
Central/Adult Arrested Person – 10:57pm: Contact was made with a 61-year-old male subject who had a unicycle, a bag full of tools, a bottle of liquor, a bicycle lock, and a laceration to his hand. The subject has a history of theft. The subject spit at officers. The subject was arrested for discharging bodily fluids at officers (2 counts). It was determined that the subject was connected to the burglary reported in the early morning of 7/10. Additional charges forthcoming.
East/Assist MFD – 11:43pm: Officers responded, along with MFD, to a report of a residential fire. No injuries reported. Residents displaced. Unknown cause of fire at this time.

Central/Residential Burglary – 12:43am: Officers responded to a residential burglary (suspect no longer on scene). Investigation continuing.
North/Check Person – 12:49am: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was contacted and conveyed to a local hospital voluntarily. Officers disengaged.
