City-Wide Notable Calls 07/14/2025 to 07/16/2025

The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Monday morning to Wednesday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

7/14
Central/Domestic Disturbance – 4:24am: Officers respond to a physical fight between a man and woman. A 26-year-old male was arrested for strangulation, false imprisonment, intimidation of a victim, battery and disorderly conduct. 

South/Theft form Auto – 4:24am: Officers respond to an apartment complex after a woman was found hiding in a vehicle. Woman was arrested for theft.

Midtown/Domestic Disturbance – 4:35am: Officers respond to a home for a domestic disturbance. A man is arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. 

North/Domestic Disturbance – 4:46am: Officers respond to a report of a sexual assault. A 40-year-old man is arrested for domestic second-degree sexual assault, domestic strangulation and domestic disorderly conduct. 

East/Exposure – 9:25am: A man was arrested for exposing himself at a mall. A 47-year-old man was arrested for lewd and lascivious behavior and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

West/Domestic Disturbance – 11:28am: Officers respond to a domestic battery. Man arrested for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct while armed, domestic strangulation, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, intimidation of a victim and interfering with child custody.

Midtown/Intoxicated Driver – 11:51am: Officers respond to a crash between a vehicle and parked car. Driver arrested for first-offense OWI.
 
Midtown/Death Investigation – 12:41pm: Officers respond to a home to find a 29-year0old woman deceased. Nothing suspicious found at the scene. Autopsy scheduled. 
 
South/Check Person -  5:15pm: Officers called after a man tried jumping out of a moving vehicle in an effort to commit suicide. Mental health professionals consulted. 
 
North/Drug Incident Overdose – 5:15pm: Homeowner called to report a person overdosing in their backyard. Officers administered naloxone. A 36-year-old woman taken to the hospital and referred to the MARI program.
 
North/Weapons Offense  – 9:01pm: Officers respond to a fight between two juveniles with adults nearby. One of the adults nearby reportedly had a weapon. No weapon found. A 34-year-old woman was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct while armed and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. 
 

7/15
North/Domestic Disturbance – 12:13am: Officers dispatched to a local hospital for a woman being treated for injuries sustained during a domestic disturbance. Man arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, battery and strangulation. 

Central/Battery – 1:35am: Man reported being assaulted by two people. Officers reviewing digital evidence in the case. Investigation ongoing.

North/Disturbance – 7:49am: MPD responds and assists another agency after man scaled a partition at the front desk of a job center. 

North/Adult Arrested Person – 7:44am: Man arrested for felony warrants out of Illinois. 

East/Missing Juvenile or Runaway – 8:48am: Woman called to report her son missing. Officers contact the son and connect him with his mother. 

Midtown/Assist EMS/Fire – 12:47pm: Officers called to check on the welfare of the person. A 69-year-old man found unresponsive. Nothing suspicious at the scene. 

Midtown/Damage to Property – 9:46am: Man seen on camera damaging property. When officers approached the man he ran from the area. Once in custody the man tossed out drugs and drug paraphernalia. 

South/Intoxicated Driver – 12:25pm: Man rear-ended another vehicle. The man then asked the other driver for a ride. He stole his vehicle when the other driver declined. Man arrested for first-offense OWI, operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent, resisting, hit-and-run and a slew of traffic citations. 

Central/Check Person – 4:36pm: Officers asked to check on the welfare of a person at James Madison Park. Intoxicated woman runs into the water and attempts to swim away from officers. Water rescue called. Officers able to talk the woman into swimming back to shore. Woman made threats to law enforcement and kicked an officer while being taken into custody for felony bailjjumping.  She was medically cleared before being taken to the Dane County Jail.
 
South/Domestic Disturbance – 11:04pm: Intoxicated man pushed a woman during an argument. Man arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. 
 
West/Intoxicated Driver – 11:38pm: Officer is doing a pro-active traffic patrol and sees a vehicle with expired plates. Driver is arrested for second-offense OWI and released to a responsible party.
 

7/16
Central/Juvenile Arrest – 12:55am: A teen, who had just purchased items from a market, was approached by three suspects wearing masks. The teen said he was attacked as he attempted to walk away. Officers in a neighboring jurisdiction sees the suspects. Two of the suspects ran from these officers but were detained quickly. Two 15-year-old males and a 16-year-old male were arrested.
