The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 6/14/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 6/17/2024, MPD received 1,251 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (266),East (271), Midtown (163), North (191), South (135), West (202), and Other (23). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 11:04pm-1:18am due to calls for service.

Midtown/Stolen Auto – 7:20am: A vehicle was reported stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

Midtown/Crash – 9:39am: Officers responded to a crash. No injuries sustained. Several lanes of traffic shut down due to the crash. A 22-year-old male driver was cited for failure to yield.

East/Disturbance – 12:27pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 13-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property, and resisting.

North/Disturbance – 1:53pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 17-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and domestic disorderly conduct.  

Midtown/Crash – 5:41pm: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. bicyclist crash. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with injuries. Investigation continuing.

West/Death Investigation – 7:59pm: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (43-year-old female). Lifesaving measures attempted but not successful. Medical Examiner's office responded. Evidence of drug use on scene. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.

South/Disturbance – 10:47pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a knife being brandished by a 26-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.

Priority calls only from 3:59am-3pm due to calls for service.

East/Stolen Auto – 1:01am: A vehicle was reported as stolen. Vehicle is observed by officers. The driver/vehicle took off at a high rate of speed. Vehicle observed and pursued by the Dane County Sheriff's Office. Tire deflation devices deployed which was successful. An 18-year-old male subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent (passenger) and burglary. An 18-year-old male subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent (passenger). A 19-year-old female subject was arrested for burglary, operating a motor vehicle without consent, and bail jumping.

East/Disturbance – 2:33am: Officers responded to a disturbance. A subject was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. Emergency detention being sought. Final placement pending. Criminal charges also forthcoming. *Transported to Winnebago completed.

Midtown/Intoxicated Driver – 3:25am: Officers dispatched to a report of a road rage incident. Contact made with a 23-year-old female driver who was found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), open intoxicants in a vehicle, and possession of cocaine.

Midtown/Domestic Disturbance – 7:34am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject. The caller, a young child, mentioned a gun was involved. A female subject reported to be held hostage, along with several children. SWAT responded, along with numerous other resources. The subject was taken into custody on numerous charges (from today's incident and a previous incident) – felon in possession of a firearm (3 counts), 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, domestic battery, theft, credit card fraud, physical abuse to a child, domestic disorderly conduct (2 counts), probation violation, domestic strangulation, domestic intimidation of a victim, domestic criminal damage to property, and false imprisonment. Two firearms recovered from the residence.

Midtown/Mental Health Conveyance – 9:55am: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject actively hurting themselves. Emergency detention sought/approved. Transported to Winnebago completed.

East/Domestic Disturbance – 3pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 40-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for violation of a no-contact order.

East/Intoxicated Driver – 4:19pm: Officers responded to a report of a 37-year-old male subject passed out in a vehicle with the car alarm going off. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense) and possession of Schedule II narcotics.

West/Adult Arrested Person – 6:10pm: Officers responded to a report of a 47-year-old male subject trespassing and attempting to steal merchandise. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and bail jumping.

East/Disturbance – 6:23pm: Officers responded to a disturbance two subjects. A 20-year-old male subject was arrested for resisting. A 23-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.

West/Armed Robbery – 7:37pm: Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery with a 20-minute time delay in reporting. Store employee reports a subject produced a handgun and demanded money. The subject fled with cash. Investigation continuing.

Midtown/Check Person – 8:44pm: Officers responded to a local hospital for a possible suicidal subject (53-year-old male). Emergency detention not supported. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and attempted battery to a police officer.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 11:39pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving two subjects. A 22-year-old male subject was arrested for possession with intent to deliver THC and possession with intent to deliver cocaine. A 23-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Central/Fight Call – 11:39pm: Officers responded to a fight in progress in the 200 block of State St. A 43-year-old male subject was arrested for battery (2 counts) and disorderly conduct (2 counts).

Priority calls only from 4:57pm-5:53pm due to calls for service.

East/Domestic Disturbance – 2am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 30-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and battery.

East/Intoxicated Driver – 2:51am: Officers responded to a vehicle that crashed and went down a 10 foot embankment into a small pond. The 37-year-old male driver was found to be impaired. The subject was arrested/cited for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).

North/Check Person – 3:06am: Officers responded to a report of a subject who fainted at a local hotel. The subject was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Officers stood by with several children until plans were made for their care. Investigation continuing.

East/Check Area – 3:56am: Officers responded to the 6800 block of Milwaukee St for numerous reports of shots fired. Shell casings located. A gun was located/recovered. A 23-year-old male subject was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm, possession with intent to deliver MDMA, and obstructing. A 31-year-old male subject was arrested on a probation/parole violation/hold.  A 39-year-old male subject was arrested on a probation/parole violation/hold. 

East/Disturbance – 6:02am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 17-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and a probation/parole violation. He was also issued a stalking letter. 

Midtown/Injured Person – 8:24am: Officers responded to an injured person/bicyclist.  No indication of a vehicle being involved in the crash. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Investigation continuing.    

East/Injured Person – 12:49pm: A subject showed up at a local hospital with a significant knife wound and other concerning injuries. The subject was not cooperative with officers. Investigation continuing.

Midtown/Intoxicated Driver – 3:39pm: Officers responded to a report of a 32-year-old male driver/subject striking an unoccupied parked vehicle. The subject was determined to be impaired. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense), bail jumping, and a probation/parole hold.

East/Domestic Disturbance – 4pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 46-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject.

East/Disturbance – 4:01pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 54-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Firearm collected as evidence. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 10:38pm: A 52-year-old male subject was arrested for possession of cocaine and several bail jumping charges.

East/Death Investigation – 12:45am: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (60-year-old female). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

City-Wide/Traffic Arrest – 3:36am: A traffic stop was attempted on a vehicle that was operated by a wanted subject (29-year-old male). Tire deflation devices deployed. The subject appeared to be intoxicated. The subject/vehicle fled.  Maple Bluff PD pursued the vehicle. The driver/vehicle crashed. Two subjects detained. Cocaine and a stolen handgun recovered from the vehicle. Charges forthcoming. Investigation continuing.
