The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 7/23/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 7/24/2025, MPD received 477 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (78),East (106), Midtown (80), North (76), South (58), West (61), and Other (18). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

East/Stolen Auto – 6:02am: A vehicle was reported stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

North/Disturbance – 10:18am: Officers responded to a 911 open line with arguing heard in the background about the sale of a gun. One subject fled on foot but was apprehended by officers. A facsimile firearm was recovered. Several other subjects on scene were interviewed. The investigation resulted in 2 juveniles receiving restorative justice referrals for unlawful use of a facsimile firearm.

West/Check Person – 5:42pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was contacted and found to have self-inflicted injuries. The subject was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The subject was subsequently transported to detox.

West/Domestic Disturbance – 5:51pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 17-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, domestic battery, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
