City-Wide Notable Calls 8/11/2025 to 8/12/2025

The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 8/11/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 8/12/2025, MPD received 456 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (81),East (103), Midtown (78), North (59), South (56), West (71), and Other (8). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only started at 10:38pm and remains as of this writing (due to calls for service).

Central/Check Person – 3:43am: A traffic stop was conducted. The driver was convinced they were in another city and was talking to a non-existent subject in the backseat. The subject was taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. Subject left in the care of medical staff and officers disengaged.

West/Disturbance – 4:35am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 4:45am: Officers were flagged down about a male subject (62-year-old) having sexual relations with a female subject who appeared to be asleep at a bus stop. The male subject attempted to walk away when he noticed officers arriving. The subject was detained. Video obtained which showed the subjects engaging in consensual sexual activity. The subject was arrested for lewd/lascivious behavior.

North/Death Investigation – 10:46am: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (65-year-old male). MFD arrived on scene first and were able to get into the residence to check the welfare of the subject, whom they located deceased. The decedent had a history of health/medical concerns. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

North/Domestic Disturbance – 11:24am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 54-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject. Officers made phone contact with the subject. The subject refused to meet with officers in-person. 

North/Death Investigation – 1:46pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (66-year-old male subject). Medical Examiner's office responded. Decedent has a history of medical/health concerns. Nothing suspicious identified.

South/Intoxicated Driver – 2:44pm: Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash. A 55-year-old male subject/driver was found to be impaired. He was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense), misdemeanor bail jumping, and a probation/parole hold.

Midtown/Runaway Juvenile – 4:40pm: A 9-year-old male was reported as a runaway. The child has a history of running away. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The child was located and returned home.

East/Missing Adult – 6pm: A 64-year-old female subject was reported as missing from her group home. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases. *Subject located safe and returned to her group home.

West/Domestic Disturbance – 6:24pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 37-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and domestic disorderly conduct.

East/Mental Health Evaluation – 9:10pm: Officers who were on another call heard screaming. Contact was made with numerous subjects who reported being afraid of a family member. The subject was contacted and taken into protective custody. The subject was transported to a local hospital where an emergency detention was sought/approved. Probable cause for criminal charges also substantiated. Placement pending.  

East/Domestic Disturbance – 10pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.

Midtown/Death Investigation – 10:55pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (27-year-old female). Identification of the subject took awhile. Unknown cause of death. Medical Examiner's office responded. Investigation continuing.

Central/Injured Subject – 4:16am: A subject arrived at a local hospital with a laceration. The subject was not cooperative with officers about what occurred. Investigation continuing.

East/Domestic Disturbance – 4:59am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 27-year-old female subject. The subject sustained lacerations from glass broken which severed an artery, tendons, and nerves. The subject was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. Probable cause was developed to arrest the subject for domestic disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. Officers on standby at the hospital pending the outcome of her medical status.
