The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 08/07/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 08/08/2025, MPD received 454 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (87), East (97), Midtown (59), North (74), South (58), West (71), and Other (8). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Priority calls only from 9:40am to 12:33pm, 3:44pm to 4:55pm, 5:55pm to 6:50pm, and 9:40pm to 2:10am due to calls for service.

CENTRAL: Death Investigation – 5:28 am. Officers and MFD paramedics responded for a report of a 29-year-old male who was not responsive on the street outside a residence. Life-saving measures were unsuccessful. Death appears to be the result of an overdose. (This was a late call that did not make the previous 24-hour cycle.)
EAST: Check Person – 8:05 am. Officers responded to the 4100 block of East Towne Blvd for a 57-year-old male who was walking in the road and appeared to be under the influence of drugs. The suspect was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting.
WEST: Disturbance – 11:21 am. Officers responded to a residence where the 31-year-old female suspect pointed a gun at the victim during an argument. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct while armed and carrying a concealed weapon.
CENTRAL: Theft – 11:40 am. Officers responded to a hotel where the 61-year-old male suspect stole a drill. The suspect was arrested and charged with burglary.
EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 12:31 pm. Officers responded to a residence to contact a 38-year-old male suspect for whom there was probable cause to arrest. The suspect became combative with officers and was charged with resisting causing injury.
SOUTH: Adult Arrested Person – 12:41 pm. Officers responded to Penn Park where the 31-year-old male suspect was drinking alcohol in violation of a city ordinance. Officers discover the suspect also had a warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and newly charged with felon in possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession with intent to deliver THC.
WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 2:43 pm. Officers responded to a residence where the 40-year-old female suspect stabbed the victim, causing a non-life-threatening injury. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic 2nd degree reckless endangering safety.
MIDTOWN: Drug Incident – 4:52 pm. Officers conducted a traffic stop after observing an exchange in an area with a high volume of short term drug trafficking. A 25-year-old male suspect was arrested for possession with intent to deliver cocaine and bail jumping. A 25-year-old female suspect was arrested for possession of fentanyl.
WEST: Weapons Offense Person w/ Gun – 9:24 pm. Officers responded to a residence where the victim reported an unknown male suspect pulled up in a vehicle and pointed a gun at her. Investigation continuing.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 9:49 pm. Officers responded to a residence where the 44-year-old male suspect threatened the victim. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct and threats to LE.
EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 9:54 pm. Officers responded to a residence where the 20-year-old male suspect armed himself with a sword during an argument. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct while armed.

CENTRAL: Drug Incident – 2:24 am. Officers contacted a 47-year-old male suspect who appeared to be engaged in illegal drug activity. The suspect attempted to conceal the drug paraphernalia from officers. The suspect was arrested for two counts of resisting/obstructing.
