The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 8/5/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 8/6/2025, MPD received 414 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (62),East (88), Midtown (69), North (74), South (56), West (58), and Other (7). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

West/Death Investigation – 6:23am: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (45-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Decedent had a history of health issues that were not treated. Nothing suspicious identified.
East/Disturbance – 4:18pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 15-year-old female subject. The subject was charged with criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct. The subject was transported to the Juvenile Reception Center.
East/Adult Arrested Person – 6:32pm: Officers responded to the mall for a trespassing complaint involving a 28-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for resisting and trespassing.
East/Disturbance – 7:41pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). A gun was displayed and pointed at another subject. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
North/Disturbance – 8:40pm: Officers responded to disturbance that occurred throughout the day. A 33-year-old female subject was arrested for obstructing and an outstanding warrant. A 45-year-old male subject was arrested for obstructing.
Central/Check Person – 9:12pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject (37-year-old male) on a roof talking to himself. Officers attempted dialogue with the subject who was not very cooperative. The subject was conveyed to a local hospital for a medical clearance. The subject caused a disturbance. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Central/Adult Arrested Person – 11:22pm: A 19-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct after causing a disturbance.
North/Runaway Juvenile – 11:59pm: A 15-year-old female subject absconded from the Dane County Juvenile Shelter last week and a Capias was issued. Information was obtained about the subject's current location. The subject was located and transported to the Juvenile Reception Center.
