City-Wide Notable Calls 8/20/2025 to 8/21/2025

The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 8/20/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 8/21/2025, MPD received 431 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (80),East (101), Midtown (58), North (82), South (42), West (55), and Other (13). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

South/Search Warrant Execution – 6am: A search warrant was conducted and a subject (info not known at the time of this writing) was arrested on multiple counts of possession of child pornography.

Midtown/Domestic Disturbance – 12:31pm: Officers responded to a 911 open line with an active disturbance being heard in the background. A 36-year-old male subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.

North/Check Person – 1:08pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was contacted and placed into protective custody. The subject was transported to a local hospital where an emergency detention was sought and approved. Transport to Winnebago pending.

South/Domestic Disturbance – 1:21pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 22-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, battery, false imprisonment, intimidation of a victim, and criminal damage to property.

East/Check Person – 2:15pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital by EMS. Safety plan put into place and officers disengaged.

West/Child Abuse – 3:45pm: Officers responded to a report of child abuse involving a 35-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for physical abuse of a child, strangulation, and disorderly conduct.

Midtown/Missing Adult – 4:20pm: A 31-year-old male subject was reported as missing. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases.

Midtown/Check Person – 8:20pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. Attempt to locate aired. Phone ping attempted but not successful. Minocqua PD observed the subject and conducted a traffic stop. No legal grounds to take the subject into protective custody. The subject was released.

Central/Suspicious Person – 11:22pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject (53-year-old male) looking through a bedroom window. Subject contacted and arrested for invasion of privacy and disorderly conduct.
