City-Wide Notable Calls 8/15/2025 to 8/18/2025

The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 8/15/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 8/18/2025, MPD received 1,291 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (242),East (262), Midtown (220), North (187), South (151), West (206), and Other (23). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

East/Death Investigation – 7:53am: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (78-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Decedent had a history of health/medical concerns. Nothing suspicious identified.

South/Death Investigation – 9:10am: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (63-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

North/Disturbance – 9:17am: Two vehicles were at a stop light. One of the driver's flashed a handgun at the other driver before taking off. Contact attempted with the registered owner – no answer. Probable cause developed to charge the subject. Investigation continuing.

East/Death Investigation – 12:48pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (43-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Decedent had a history of health concerns and was a heavy drinker. Nothing suspicious identified.

Central/Strong Armed Robbery – 4:33pm: Officers responded to a business to a report of a strong armed robbery. A suspect came into the store claiming to have a weapon (none observed). The suspect fled on foot with cash. Areas checked. Suspect remains at-large. Investigation continuing.

Midtown/Death Investigation – 5:31pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (77-year-old female). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

Midtown/Mental Health Conveyance – 8:26pm: A subject was transported to a local hospital where an emergency detention was sought/approved. Transport to Winnebago pending. *Subject transported to Winnebago.

Priority calls only from 2:34am to 7:40am due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 11:50pm to 2:37am due to calls for service.

East/Check Person – 12:35am: A subject was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. Subject cooperative and left in the care of medical staff. Officers disengaged.

Central/Injured Person – 2:32am: A subject arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to their thigh. Investigation continuing.

West/Intoxicated Driver – 3:51am: A 25-year-old male subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense).

North/Injured Person – 5:16am: A subject arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to their calf. Investigation continuing. *Subject was handed a gun that they thought was unloaded. They shot themselves in the calf not knowing their was a round in the chamber.

East/Domestic Disturbance – 8am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 62-year-old male subject. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who was not located but was talked to.  The subject stated they would turn themselves in on Monday.

North/Domestic Disturbance – 9:16am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 21-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery, domestic strangulation, and domestic disorderly conduct.

West/Disturbance – 3:19pm: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving 4 subjects (not all on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to charge two subjects, who remain at-large.

Central/Stolen Auto – 8:34pm: A vehicle was reported stolen. Vehicle tracked to Oregon. Oregon PD observed the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop but the driver/vehicle fled. Driver/vehicle located in Illinois. The driver (37-year-old male) was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense) and operating a motor vehicle without consent.

North/Armed Robbery – 11:29pm: Two subjects attempted to rob a business. A gun was implied but not displayed/seen. Investigation continuing.

North/Adult Arrested Person – 11:47pm: A wanted subject (38-year-old male) was observed by an officer. The subject was not cooperative with officers. The subject actively resisted officers. The subject was arrested for the probable cause charge for stalking and violation of a restraining order (3 counts) and a new charge of resisting.

Priority calls only from 4:37pm to 11:12pm due to calls for service.

Central/Shots Fired – 1:55am: Officers responded to a report of shots fired. A round was found to have struck a business (shattered a window). Investigation continuing.

Midtown/Armed Robbery – 3:27am: A suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money and the cell phone from their Uber/Lyft driver. Suspect did not get anything and fled. Investigation continuing.

Central/Disturbance – 8:19am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 31-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.

East/Death Investigation – 1:14pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (85-year-old male). Death self-inflicted. Nothing suspicious identified. Medical Examiner's office responded.

Midtown/Weapons Offense – 4:24pm: Officers responded to a report of a shooting on Allied Drive. A victim with gunshot wounds was located and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Victim on probation and a hold was placed on them. Investigation continuing.

Central/Mental Health Conveyance – 6:20pm: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention. Final outcome pending.

West/Battery – 6:25pm: Officers responded to a local hospital where a subject reported being physically assaulted. The subject has outstanding probable cause for their arrest, and will be transported to jail upon a medical clearance.

Priority calls only from 2:19am to 3:03am due to calls for service.

Central/Disturbance – 1:26am: Officers responded to a 911 disconnect with sounds of an active disturbance in the background. Two subjects were detained. A 53-year-old female subject threatened officers with physical harm (charge – disorderly conduct). While placing her into custody a 35-year-old female subject ran over and struck an officer in the face (charges – disorderly conduct, obstructing an officer, attempted battery to law enforcement and battery to law enforcement. A 33-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.  

North/Disturbance – 2:54am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving two subjects. Probable cause developed to arrest a 31-year-old male subject who remains at-large. A 35-year-old female subject was arrested on outstanding warrants.
