City-Wide Notable Calls 8/22/2025 to 8/25/2025

The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 8/22/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 8/25/2025, MPD received 1,282 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (263),East (277), Midtown (206), North (202), South (128), West (187), and Other (19). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 5:40pm to 6:01pm due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 10:03pm to 3:22am due to calls for service.

North/Non-Residential Burglary – 5:20am: Officers responded to a report of a non-residential burglary. Signs of force entry observed. Building checked. Investigation continuing.

City-Wide/Check Person – 8:34am: A 26-year-old male subject, with outstanding probable cause for their arrest, was making suicidal and homicidal threats. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The subject was taken into custody.

North/Missing Adult – 8:49am: A 61-year-old female subject was reported as missing. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. Silver Alert issued. *Subject located safe. Emergency detention sought and approved. Local placement secured.

Midtown/Domestic Disturbance – 1:37pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 30-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and domestic battery.

West/Disturbance – 2:40pm: Officers responded to a retail theft involving a 39-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for retail theft, resisting, misdemeanor bail jumping, felony bail jumping (2 counts), and an outstanding warrant.

South/Disturbance – 3:07pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 39-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for trespassing, disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of meth, threats toward law enforcement, and a probation violation.

East/Disturbance – 3:50pm: Officers responded to a disturbance. The subject was transported to a local hospital where an emergency detention was sought. Probable cause in place for the arrest of the subject as well. Final outcome pending. *Subject transported to Winnebago.

Midtown/Disturbance – 9:54pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving an 18-year-old male subject. The subject was charged with disorderly conduct.

Priority calls only from 9:34pm to 11:29pm due to calls for service.

East/Adult Arrested Person – 4:55am: Officers responded to a report of a 31-year-old male subject lying in the road, intoxicated, and yelling. The subject was contacted and he threatened officers. The subject was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting.  

East/Death Investigation – 5:11am: Officers responded to a report of a subject (59-year-old male) down. Lifesaving measures attempted but not successful. Medical Examiner's office responded. Decedent had health/medical concerns. Nothing suspicious identified.

South/Missing Child – 11:14am: Officers responded to a report of a missing child with autism. Areas checked. Child located safe.

North/Check Person – 12:54pm: Officers responded to a drug overdose involving a 19-year-old female subject. Naloxone administered and was successful. The subject was arrested for possession of cocaine and a probation/parole hold.

West/Mental Health Conveyance – 2:16pm: A subject was transported to a local hospital for an emergency detention return. Transport to Winnebago completed.

City-Wide/Check Person – 4:13pm: Officers responded to a report of a suicidal subject. The subject was contacted and transported to Detox. Local mental health resources were notified.

South/Check Area – 9:29pm: Officers responded to a report of people with guns fighting and a report of a stabbing. People started to run as officers arrived in the area. No injuries located/reported.

Central/Disturbance – 10:48pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 46-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and harassment of police animals (mounted patrol).

Priority calls only from 6:58pm to 7:42pm due to calls for service.

Central/Disturbance – 1:04am: Officers respond to a fight in progress. A 27-year-old female subject was detained. She fought officers (attempted to bite an officer and punched an officer). The subject was arrested for battery to public officer, felony resisting causing injury (2 counts), battery, and disorderly conduct.  

Central/Battery – 1:10am: A victim reported being physically assaulted by an unknown subject. Investigation continuing.

Midtown/Non-Residential Burglary – 2:17am: A business was broken into. Investigation continuing.

Midtown/Traffic Arrest – 6:54am: A motorcyclist was observed speeding in far excess of the posted limits. Traffic stop attempted but motorcyclist was too far ahead. Driver (28-year-old male) tracked down and arrested for eluding. He was also issued numerous traffic citations.

South/Death Investigation – 10am: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (43-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

North/Death Investigation – 1:26pm: Officers responded to an odor complaint. Entry made to the residence and a 85-year-old female subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

East/Adult Arrested Person – 4:02pm: Officers responded to a threats complaint involving a 25-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic bail jumping, resisting causing soft tissue injury, and obstructing.

Midtown/Check Person – 5:07pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject running in and out of traffic. Subject contacted, taken into protective custody, and transported to a local hospital. Subject voluntarily agreed to seek services and officers disengaged.

West/Check Person – 10:57pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was contacted, taken into protective custody, and transported to a local hospital. Transport to Winnebago pending.

East/Check Person – 11:31pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was contacted, taken into protective custody, and transported to a local hospital. Chapter 51 return in place. Transport to Winnebago pending.

Central/Check Area – 11:54pm: Officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired (Carroll St/Gilman St area). Casing located. No reported injuries or property damage at this time.

Priority calls only from 12:07am to 2:14am due to calls for service.

North/Disturbance – 12:26am: Officers responded to a disturbance. A 16-year-old male subject was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct while armed. A 17-year-old male subject was cited for disorderly conduct.

Midtown/Sexual Assault – 1:14am: A victim reported being sexually assaulted. Investigation continuing.

Midtown/Non-Residential Burglary – 1:45am: Officers responded to an alarm at a local school. A 24-year-old male subject runs from the building and was taken into custody. The subject was arrested for burglary with a dangerous weapon and resisting.
