The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 8/25/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 8/26/2025, MPD received 438 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (80),East (79), Midtown (87), North (69), South (41), West (62), and Other (20). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Midtown/Domestic Disturbance – 7:29am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 43-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
South/Check Person – 12:45pm: Officers requested by CARES to respond to a residence where safety planning was attempted with a subject who was experiencing a manic episode and had left a hospital against medical advice earlier that day. The subject was placed into protective custody and transported to a local hospital. The subject made repeated threats to harm officers and medical staff. Charges forthcoming. The subject was conveyed to Winnebago.
Central/Disturbance – 3:03pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 39-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for trespassing, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony bail jumping.
East/Sexual Assault of a Child – 5:46pm: Officers responded to a report of photos and video of a minor being distributed. Safey plan put into place. Investigation continuing.
Midtown/Domestic Disturbance – 6:49pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 24-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, domestic battery, and felony bail jumping (2 counts).
South/Adult Arrested Person – 8:36pm: Officers responded to a mutual aid request from Monona PD reference a subject shoplifting. A 17-year-old male subject was going to be issued a citation for trespassing but the subject resisted officers. The subject was arrested for trespassing and resisting.
South/Recovered Stolen Auto – 9:45pm: Officers responded to an unoccupied vehicle that was against a tree and was damaged/smoking. Two subjects were observed walking away from the vehicle. The vehicle was reported stolen during a drug-related transaction. Registered owner matched the description of the subject seen walking away. Inconsistent explanations provided. Investigation continuing.
East/Disturbance – 10:30pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 41-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed and resisting.
