The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 8/29/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 9/1/2025, MPD received 1,305 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (291),East (237), Midtown (232), North (201), South (135), West (166), and Other (43). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

North/Battery – 8:36am: Officers responded to a witnessed incident of caregiver abuse involving a 67-year-old female subject. Contact attempted with the subject without success. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject. Safety plan put into place for the victim. *Subject arrested for abuse and neglect of patients and residents.
East/Domestic Disturbance – 11:37am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 23-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct while armed, domestic criminal damage to property, and resisting.
Midtown/Disturbance – 11:49am: Officers responded to a convenience store for a disturbance involving a 21-year-old female subject who has a history of stealing merchandise. Subject not on scene when officers arrived. The subject was contacted via phone. The subject hung up on the officer. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
East/Trespassing – 2:37pm: Officers responded to a motel for a 36-year-old male subject who stayed beyond their check-out and refused to leave the premises. The subject was arrested on a probation hold.
Midtown/Adult Arrested Person – 4:46pm: A 40-year-old male subject stole an envelope from a mailbox. The subject was arrested for theft and bail jumping.
East/Death Investigation – 6:07pm: Officers made entry to a residence to check the welfare of a 91-year-old male subject. The subject was located deceased. Nothing suspicious identified.
West/Domestic Disturbance – 7:40pm: A 20-year-old male subject was arrested for domestic strangulation, domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct, and bail jumping.
Central/Domestic Disturbance – 9:30pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 35-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested earlier in the evening for domestic battery. The victim bailed the subject out and another disturbance took place. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct (felony enhancer).

West/Stolen Auto – 12:06am: A 61-year-old male subject stole a vehicle from an acquaintance. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
East/Check Person – 2:21am: A subject was conveyed to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. The subject became uncooperative to receive services while at the hospital. Emergency detention sought/approved. Transport to Winnebago pending. *Transport to Winnebago completed.
North/Intoxicated Driver – 4:10am: A vehicle was idling in a parking lot. Officers made contact with the driver (32-year-old female) who was found passed out behind the wheel. The driver was determined to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense). She was also arrested for possession of MDMA, possession of cocaine, possession of schedule I/II narcotics, possession of THC, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
North/Disturbance – 7:50am: Officers responded to a report of a male subject chasing a female subject on foot. Female subject contacted and she denied needing any assistance. The male subject (35-year-old) was known to officers to be on probation/parole. The subject was tracked by probation/parole. Officers located the subject and arrested him on a DOC warrant.
Midtown/Death Investigation – 9:48am: Officers responded to a report of a missing adult (42-year-old male) who had not come home the night before. Friends contacted. Areas checked. The subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
South/Crash – 11:52am: Officers responded to a rollover crash on the Beltline. Non-life threatening injuries sustained. Significant traffic backed up due to the closure of multiple lanes.
North/Adult Arrested Person – 4:13pm: Officers were requested to remove an intoxicated subject (56-year-old male) from his mother's home. The subject was taken into protective custody. A medical clearance was obtained before the subject was conveyed to jail for felon in possession of a concealed weapon (knife).
West/Death Investigation – 6:49pm: Officers responded to a report of a 75-year-old male subject who collapsed. The subject had an active DNR order. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
Midtown/Check Area – 7:48pm: Officers responded to reports of shots fired at Garner Park with people fleeing the area. A rifle casing was located. No reported injuries or property damage at this time.
Central/Adult Arrested Person – 8:59pm: A 26-year-old male subject, with active warrants (disorderly conduct, retail theft, criminal damage to property, and disorderly conduct while armed), was observed and taken into custody. An additional charge was added for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Midtown/Disturbance – 10:10pm: A 46-year-old female subject, intoxicated and at a local hospital, caused a disturbance and physically assaulted a medical staff employee. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, battery to a healthcare worker, and resisting.

East/Check Person – 12:10am: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. Attempt to locate aired Areas checked. The subject was located by another law enforcement agency. The subject was placed into protective custody and transported to a local hospital for an emergency detention. Other law enforcement agency took the lead on this incident.
Central/Stolen Auto – 12:24am: Caller advised they observed 4 subjects driving a crane down Main Street. The crane was located unoccupied. Crane towed.
Midtown/Adult Arrested Person – 5:27am: A 29-year-old male subject has been the subject of at least 7 calls over the last few days (false fire alarms, unlawful use of telephone, etc.). MFD responded to a report of medical concerns by the subject. The subject barricaded himself behind a fire escape door. The subject was ultimately transported to a local hospital. MPD contacted the subject due to probable cause developed for his arrest. The subject was resistive towards officers and threatened them. The subject was arrested for threats to law enforcement (with a hate crime enhancer), resisting, probable cause on previous charges, and a warrant.
Central/Trespassing – 10:47am: Officers responded to a report of a chronic trespasser (30-year-old male) on scene. The subject was arrested for unlawful trespass after notification.
East/Battery – 11:03am: A caller reported being physically attacked by someone they believed to be a neighbor. The caller sought medical attention. Investigation continuing.
West/Crash – 3:51pm: Officers responded to the Beltline for a vehicle vs. motorcycle crash with the driver/vehicle fleeing. Motorcyclist transported to a local hospital. Investigation continuing.
North/Recovered Stolen Auto – 8:04pm: An unoccupied stolen vehicle was located/recovered.
Central/Domestic Disturbance – 8:11pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 56-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, disorderly conduct (with a hate crime enhancer), and a probation/parole hold.
Central/Adult Arrested Person – 8:36pm: Officers responded to a disturbance where a female subject (later identified as a 49-year-old) was physically assaulting a male subject. Both subjects not on scene when officers arrived. A female subject was contacted and was uncooperative with officers (failed to ID herself). The subject was arrested and transported to jail to post on a city ordinance charge for disorderly conduct. The subject bailed out and later police were called to another disturbance. The female subject involved was the same subject as the one arrested earlier in the evening. The subject was arrested for a second time – for domestic disorderly conduct and use of OC.
North/Disturbance – 9:43pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting, and outstanding warrants.
Central/Check Area – 11:50pm: Officers responded to reports of shots fired. Areas checked. Subject contacted/detained and later released. No reports of injuries or property damage at this time.
