The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 9/16/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 9/17/2025, MPD received 423 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (66),East (90), Midtown (74), North (61), South (49), West (65), and Other (18). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

North/Stolen Auto – 7:51am: A vehicle was reported stolen sometime overnight. A second vehicle was later reported stolen. One vehicle tracked and located unoccupied. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
East/Adult Arrested Person – 10:18am: A wanted subject (40-year-old male) was observed by an officer. A traffic stop was conducted. The subject claimed he was someone else and was not cooperative with the officer. The subject fled on foot. The officer apprehended the subject. The subject resisted, actively fought the officer, struck the officer in the head, and bit the officer several times. Taser deployed. The subject was arrested on his outstanding felony warrant. Additional charges added for the subject include resisting causing soft tissue injury and battery to law enforcement.
Central/Check Person – 3:01pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 41-year-old male subject who reported taking "bad cocaine" and was feeling suicidal. Phone ping conducted. Areas checked. Subject located driving. Traffic stop attempted but the subject did not stop. Sun Prairie PD located the vehicle and took the subject into custody after he fled from them on foot armed with a knife. Charges forthcoming.
West/Battery – 7:03pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 14-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct. The subject was transported to the Juvenile Reception Center.
East/Disturbance – 7:17pm: Dispatch received a call with sounds of a disturbance in the background. Officers made contact at a residence and conducted a protective sweep to check on any occupants. A 40-year-old male subject was found to be in violation of bail conditions, so he was arrested for felony bail jumping. No other charges substantiated.
West/Missing Adult – 7:55pm: An 87-year-old male subject was reported as missing. Attempt to locate aired. Phone pings attempted. The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases.
East/Domestic Disturbances – 9:03pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 29-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery to an elder person and domestic disorderly conduct while armed.
