The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 04/18/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 04/19/2024, MPD received 450 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (86), East (86), Midtown (64), North (76), South (54), West (78), and Other (6). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.


SOUTH: Adult Arrested Person – 5:31 am. MPD SWAT executed a search warrant at a residence and took two suspects into custody without incident.

WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 8:46 am. Officers responded to a residence where the 35-year-old female suspect scratched the victim. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and battery.

EAST: OMVWI – 1:36 pm. Officers responded to Royster Oaks Dr and Silas St for a two vehicle crash. The 28-year-old male driver was cited for OWI 1st and failure to yield while making a left hand turn.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 4:33 pm. Officers took into custody a 39-year-old male suspect wanted by US Marshals. The suspect was newly charged with obstructing.

SOUTH: Mental Health Conveyance – 4:48 pm. Officers assisted Journey Mental Health with the emergency detention of a juvenile. The juvenile was placed into protective custody and transported to a hospital.

EAST: Battery – 5:12 pm. Officers responded to the 1400 block of Wayridge Dr where two unidentified suspects struck a victim with a bat. Investigation continuing.

EAST: Check Person – 6:44 pm. Journey Mental Health requested that officers respond to a hospital for a patient who was suicidal and might be placed under an emergency detention. The patient was admitted to the hospital and officers disengaged.

CENTRAL: Trespass – 8:26 pm. Officers responded to a residence where a 29-year-old male suspect who had a warrant for his arrest was trespassing. The suspect was arrested and newly charged with possession of methamphetamine, resisting, possession of burglarious tools, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 11:50 pm. Officers responded to an address where a 54-year-old suspect claimed she was pushed. Officers were unable to substantiate any charges. Officers conveyed the suspect to jail on a P&P hold.


SOUTH: Drug Incident – 1:20 am. Officers responded to the 2000 block of Fisher St where a vehicle was idling. A 46-year-old female suspect was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. A 31-year-old female suspect was charged with obstructing.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 1:41 am. Officers responded to a downtown bar where the 29-year-old male suspect tried to hit a bouncer with a bottle. The suspect was arrested and charged with attempted battery while armed and disorderly conduct while armed.
