The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 05/23/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 05/24/2022, MPD received 387 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (66),East (92), Midtown (50), North (67), South (36), West (52), and Other (24). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 11:41 a.m. to 3:08 p.m. due to calls for service.

WEST: Residential Burglary – 5:21 a.m.  Officers responded to a residential burglary where a purse, keys and a vehicle were stolen.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.  *Additional reports of burglaries, stolen packages and attempted stolen vehicles across numerous districts were reported involving the stolen vehicle from this incident. 

EAST: Non-Residential Burglary – 7:40 a.m.  Officers responded to a business that had been broken into.  Damage done to the business, 2 vehicles stolen and numerous key fobs also stolen. 

WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 8:40 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 20-year-old male suspect.  Suspect not on scene.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. 

EAST: Juvenile Arrest – 9:03 a.m.  Officers responded to a school reference a student with a gun.  A 16-year-old male was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and possession of firearm in a school zone. 

WEST: Sexual Assault of a Child – 12:26 p.m.  Child Protective Services notified police about an open sexual assault of a child investigation they received.  Investigation continuing. 

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 2:00 p.m.  Two 17-year-old male suspects were arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent/operating a motor vehicle without consent (passenger).  A handgun was recovered as well as a stolen vehicle

MIDTOWN: Sexual Assault – 3:47 p.m.  Officers met with a victim who reported being sexually assaulted by a known acquaintance/suspect.  Investigation continuing. 

CENTRAL: Mental Health Conveyance – 4:15 p.m.  Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject.  CARES and Journey Mental Health plugged in.  The subject was placed into protective custody and conveyed to a local hospital.  Final outcome/placement pending. 

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 11:02 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 51-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic battery.

NORTH: Check Person – 12:08 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of a subject armed with a gun.  Contact made with the subject who was taken into protective custody and conveyed to a local hospital.  An emergency detention was sought/approved.  The subject was subsequently transported to Winnebago. 

SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 12:40 a.m.  A 23-year-old male suspect was arrested for violating the 72-hour no contact provision.  The suspect was transported to jail.
