The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 01/06/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 01/09/2023, MPD received 912 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (175), East (203), Midtown (130), North (155), South (86), West (120), and Other (43). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 8:28 p.m. to 10:13 p.m. due to calls for service.

MIDTOWN: Intoxicated Driver – 12:47 a.m.  An officer conducted a traffic stop on a suspect vehicle on Whitney Way at Regent St that was traveling well above the speed limit.  The 55-year-old male suspect driver performed poorly on field sobriety tests.  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense), threats to law enforcement, resisting, and failure to install ignition interlocking device.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 8:25 a.m.  Officers responded to the 4300 block of East Towne Blvd and contacted a 25-year-old male suspect who had warrants.  The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

CENTRAL: Weapons Offense – 10:30 a.m.  Officers responded to the Beacon where staff reported that the 35-year-old suspect was armed and causing a disturbance.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and bail jumping.

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 1:16 p.m.  During an argument, the 23-year-old male suspect punched a door.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

WEST: Mental Health Conveyance – 1:16 p.m.  Officers responded to a hospital to convey a subject under a Chapter 51 commitment to a psychiatric ward.

MIDTOWN: Runaway Juvenile – 1:31 p.m.  A mother reported that her 15-year-old daughter ran away. Attempt to located aired.  The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.

NORTH: Overdose/Adult Arrested Person – 1:47 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a subject had overdosed.  MFD paramedics transported this subject to the hospital.  Officers also made contact with a 59-year-old suspect on scene who had a warrant.  The suspect was arrested on the outstanding warrant and possession of fentanyl.

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 2:55 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance.  The primary aggressor was conveyed to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.  Charges forthcoming.  Final outcome of evaluation pending.

WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 4:34 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence where the 42-year-old male suspect attempted to enter the home through a window after the residents refused to let him in.  The suspect and victim used to live together.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and several counts of bail jumping.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 4:55 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance. The primary aggressor was conveyed to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.  Charges forthcoming.  Subject transported to a mental health facility for placement/treatment.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 5:47 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence where as a result of an argument, family members locked the 30-year-old male suspect out of the residence.  Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for domestic disorderly conduct.  Suspect later returned to the residence and was taken into custody.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 5:56 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a 61-year-old female subject was discovered deceased from an apparent drug overdose.  Nothing suspicious on scene.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 10:19 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 53-year-old male suspect.  Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for domestic 2nd degree reckless endangering safety and disorderly conduct.  Suspect is at large.

CENTRAL: Stolen Auto – 12:04 a.m.  A victim reported her vehicle was stolen from somewhere on Carroll St.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

EAST: Overdose – 12:13 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where the 30-year-old female suspect had overdosed.  Officers revived the suspect by administering naloxone.  The suspect was transported to the hospital and offered participation in the MAARI program.  The suspect was charged with possession of heroin.

CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 2:25 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of a subject passed out in a vehicle on Gilman St near State St.  The 26-year-old male suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), threats to law enforcement, resisting, disorderly conduct, going armed while intoxicated and discharging bodily fluids at public safety workers.
SOUTH: Disturbance – 3:47 a.m.  An intoxicated subject reported that someone holding a handgun knocked on their door.  Officers were unable to corroborate the story and did not develop probable cause for an arrest.

NORTH: Sexual Assault – 4:02 a.m.  The victim reported that a known suspect sexually assaulted her.  Investigation continuing.

EAST: Traffic Stop – 10:51 a.m.  Officers observed a vehicle engaged in suspicious activity near E Washington Ave and E Johnson St.  The vehicle eluded an attempted traffic stop but was later located unoccupied.  Officers discovered evidence of drug dealing in the vehicle, which was towed.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 12:04 p.m.  Officers responded with MFD paramedics to a residence where family members found the 70-year-old male subject deceased.  Nothing suspicious on scene.

WEST: Death Investigation – 1:12 p.m. Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (81-year-old female). Nothing suspicious identified.

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 4:02 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 24-year-old male suspect. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, domestic criminal damage to property, resisting and a probation hold.

MIDTOWN: Mental Health Conveyance – 5:10 p.m. A subject was transported from a local facility to Winnebago.

NORTH: Disturbance – 6:00 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 37-year-old male suspect. The suspect was arrested for battery to an elderly person.

NORTH: Weapons Offense – 6:45 p.m. Officers responded to a report of an occupied vehicle that was struck several times by gunfire. No injuries reported. Investigation continuing.

MIDTOWN: Adult Arrested Person – 7:08 p.m. An occupied stolen vehicle was observed.  A traffic stop was conducted and the occupants were detained. The registered owner was contacted and the vehicle was apparently no longer stolen. A 30-year-old male passenger/suspect was arrested on outstanding warrants.

MIDTOWN: Mental Health Conveyance – 7:10 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject.  The subject was contacted and taken into protective custody. The subject was conveyed to a local hospital where Journey Mental Health was consulted. Final outcome pending. *An emergency detention was not approved.  The subject/suspect (21-year-old male) was arrested for trespassing and transported to jail.

MIDTOWN: Check Person – 7:54 p.m. Officers responded to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was conveyed to a local hospital where Journey Mental Health supported an emergency detention. Transport to Winnebago pending.  

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 8:20 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old male suspect. The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived. Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located.

NORTH: Assist Law Enforcement – 11:40 p.m. Officers assisted Maple Bluff PD (MBPD) who was attempting to stop a vehicle that fled from officers the previous day.  MPD assisted with deploying spikes and utilizing other resources.  The pursuit by MBPD was ultimately terminated and the suspect(s) remain at-large. The vehicle was located unoccupied and was towed.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 12:26 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 39-year-old male suspect. The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cocaine.

CENTRAL: Fight Call – 12:30 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a large fight. A victim sustained a significant laceration. Little cooperation from those on scene. No suspect(s) identified at this time. Investigation continuing.

NORTH: Battery – 5:45 a.m. A victim reported being assaulted by a known acquaintance/suspect. The victim was conveyed to a local hospital for medical treatment. Investigation continuing.

NORTH: Mental Health Conveyance – 8:50 a.m. A subject was transported to Winnebago at the request of Journey Mental Health.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 10:51 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 18-year-old male suspect. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 3:11 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 17-year-old male suspect. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 5:31 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 36-year-old female suspect. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts).

MIDTOWN: Mental Health Conveyance – 7:28 p.m. Officers responded to a local hospital regarding a combative patient/subject. Transport to Winnebago pending.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 7:32 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 26-year-old male suspect. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and criminal trespass to dwelling.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 11:08 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 30-year-old male suspect. The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct (2 counts), bail jumping (2 counts), threats to law enforcement and resisting (in addition to outstanding probable cause for false use of 911 and felony bail jumping).

01/09

EAST: Traffic Stop – 12:06 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that fled the previous night. Spikes were deployed.  No vehicle pursuit occurred. The vehicle ended up fleeing but was stopped by another law enforcement agency. A 30-year-old male suspect was located hiding near the Interstate. The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, eluding and possession of cocaine. Additional charges forthcoming.

SOUTH: Adult Arrested Person – 12:37 a.m. A 27-year-old male suspect walked into the unlocked back door of a residence. The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and felony bail jumping (4 counts).
