The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 07/20/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 07/21/2022, MPD received 438 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (83),East (89), Midtown (68), North (80), South (39), West (59), and Other (20). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

NORTH: Battery – 3:06 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 27-year-old male suspect. The suspect was arrested for battery, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.
CENTRAL: Check Area – 10:34 a.m. A complainant advised dispatch that a subject in a moving vehicle shot at them. Officers responded to the area. The suspect vehicle was observed and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver/suspect (42-year-old male) was arrested for reckless driving, stop sign violation and disorderly conduct. Additional charges may be forthcoming. No firearm located.
CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 4:16 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a subject/suspect (53-year-old male) exposing himself in public. The suspect was arrested for lewd/lascivious behavior, disorderly conduct and a probation/parole warrant.
SOUTH: Adult Arrested Person – 7:39 p.m. A 31-year-old male wanted subject/suspect was taken into custody. In addition to outstanding warrants the suspect was also arrested for obstructing as he lied about his identity.
EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 8:26 p.m. A 31-year-old male suspect was arrested for violating a no-contact order.
EAST: Sexual Assault of a Child – 10:07 p.m. Officers received a sexual assault of a child allegation. Investigation continuing.

EAST: Recovered Stolen Auto – 1:29 a.m. An officer observed a disabled vehicle with no plates. The vehicle was determined to be stolen. A 33-year-old male suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent and felony bail jumping (3 counts).
NORTH: Child Abuse – 2:56 a.m. Officers responded to a report of child abuse. Child Protective Services contacted. Investigation continuing.
