The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 01/31/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 02/01/2023, MPD received 383 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (56),East (73), Midtown (60), North (75), South (47), West (51), and Other (21). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 6:19 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a subject with facial injuries.  The subject was conveyed to a local hospital for treatment.  The subject (56-year-old male) was treated and released from the hospital.  The subject was transported to jail on an outstanding warrant.  Initial investigation is ongoing. 

WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 7:29 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 48-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.

EAST: Juvenile Contact – 9:53 a.m. A 14-year-old male brought a pellet gun to school.  The juvenile was fingerprinted and photographed.  The juvenile was released to a guardian.  Pellet gun recovered.

WEST: PNB Response – 10:36 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (87-year-old male). MFD attempted lifesaving efforts which were ultimately not effective. Medical Examiner's office responded. The subject was pronounced deceased. Nothing suspicious identified.

EAST: Disturbance – 12:17 p.m. Officers responded to LaFollette HS reference a fight call for the second time in two days. It was reported that a gun was displayed and the subject left in a vehicle. The vehicle was observed and a traffic stop was conducted. Firearm not located. A 16-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed. A 17-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed (party to a crime) and possession of marijuana. Family members of the subjects uncooperative with officers.

MIDTOWN: Sexual Assault of a Child – 3:24 p.m. Officers responded to a sexual assault of a child report. Investigation continuing.

MIDTOWN: Fraud – 4:49 p.m. A subject was called in as cashing fraudulent checks at several financial institutions. Investigation continuing.

CENTRAL: Stolen Auto – 5:25 p.m. A vehicle was reported as stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 7:03 p.m. A stolen vehicle was observed (recovered) and contact was made with a 18-year-old male subject. The subject provided false identification to officers. A search of the vehicle yielded marijuana. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and obstructing.  

MIDTOWN: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 7:42 p.m. A 14-year-old female was reported as missing/runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 9:34 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed, possession of drug paraphernalia and outstanding warrants.

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 10:31 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 35-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 1:03 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 39-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic burglary, battery, disorderly conduct and bail jumping (4 counts).
