The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 03/03/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 03/0/2023, MPD received 1,042 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (189), East (220), Midtown (158), North (179), South (96), West (142), and Other (58). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

03/03

NORTH: Residential Burglary – 7:11 a.m.  The victims reported someone entered their home overnight through an unlocked patio door and stole several items.  Investigation continuing.

SOUTH: Traffic Stop – 7:12 a.m.  An officer on the eastbound beltline near Seminole Hwy observed the suspect vehicle traveling in the flex lane at an estimated speed of over 90 mph.  The 32-year-old female driver was cited for reckless driving and several other offenses.

SOUTH: Stolen Auto – 7:27 a.m.  The victim reported he left his vehicle running with the keys in it when it was stolen.  Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

EAST: Non-Residential Burglary – 8:15 a.m.  Officers responded to a business for reported damage and a vehicle stolen (window/key box damaged). Attempt to locate the vehicle aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

WEST: Child Neglect – 10:21 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of several young children left alone in a hotel room without any adults.  Officers contacted the family. Child Protective Services notified.  No charges were substantiated.

CENTRAL: Violation of Court Order – 5:00 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence where the 37-year-old male subject violated a no contact order by attempting contact with the resident.  The subject fled before police arrived.  Officers developed probable cause to arrest the subject who remains at large.

MIDTOWN: Stolen Auto – 5:48 p.m.  The victim reported his vehicle was stolen since he last parked it on the street four days ago.  Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 5:25 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 43-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct.

SOUTH: Assist EMS/Fire – 6:32 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a 17-year-old subject had ingested psilocybin and was screaming, throwing things and fighting with family members.  MFD paramedics transported the subject to the hospital.  No charges were substantiated.

CENTRAL: Robbery – 10:00 p.m.  Officers responded to a report of a robbery at a business.  No weapon was observed.  The unidentified subject fled on foot and remains at large.  Investigation continuing.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 11:15 p.m.  Officers observed a 44-year-old male subject remove a handgun from a parked vehicle and conceal it in his waistband.  The subject was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm and resisting.

03/04

Priority calls only from 1:21 a.m. to 2:59 a.m. due to calls for service.

WEST: Check Property – 12:57 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of a fight with shots fired.  There was no active disturbance when officers arrived.  Officers did not locate any fired shell casings, signs of injured persons or damage to property.

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 2:22 a.m.  Officers observed a 29-year-old male subject who had a warrant.  The subject was taken into custody and newly charged with felon in possession of a firearm, resisting, and possession of THC.

EAST: Check Property – 4:48 a.m.  Officers responded to the 5800 block of Femrite Dr where security reported seeing someone trespassing inside a fenced area.  Officers located no suspicious persons and no damage to property.

CENTRAL: Damage to Property Graffiti – 8:25 a.m.  Officers located multiple buildings downtown that were tagged with offensive messages.  Investigation continuing.

SOUTH: Check Person – 9:30 a.m.  Officers responded multiple times to a residence where a subject was yelling and throwing furniture off a balcony.  The subject was eventually placed into protective custody and transported to a mental health facility.

MIDTOWN: Check Person – 9:51 a.m.  Officers contacted a subject who made suicidal statements and ran into traffic after a family member tried to take him to the hospital.  Officers dialogued with the subject who agreed to go to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.  The subject was left in the care of hospital staff.

WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 12:09 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 22-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

CENTRAL: Robbery – 12:49 p.m.  Officers responded to Festival Foods where staff reported an unidentified suspect claimed he had a gun and demanded money.  The suspect fled on foot.  Investigation continuing. *A 41-year-old male subject was identified and arrested. Charges forthcoming.

MIDTOWN: Child Abuse – 1:58 p.m. Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving two minors/siblings.  The older sibling was not on scene and probable cause was developed to arrest her for physical abuse to a child (sibling). The female subject was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.

CITY-WIDE: Death Investigation – 5:46 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. Entry was made to the residence and the subject (55-year-old male) was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Decedent had a history of medical/health concerns. Nothing suspicious identified.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 8:02 p.m. A 21-year-old female subject was arrested for resisting, mistreatment of animals and not providing proper shelter for animals.

Priority calls only from 7:53 p.m. to. 8:48 p.m. due to calls for service.

EAST: Intoxicated Drivers – 12:23 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of a vehicle stopped in traffic. As officers were making contact with the driver, another driver/vehicle driving at a high rate of speed struck the squad. Both drivers (27-year-old male and 37-year-old male) were found to be impaired. They were both arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.

SOUTH: Disturbance – 3:05 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 23-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for battery, strangulation, intimidation of a victim and 2nd degree reckless endangering safety.

MIDTOWN: Check Property – 5:42 a.m. A subject reported that two unknown subjects made entry to his residence, assaulted him and took his wallet.  No injuries identified. No damage to the residence observed.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 7:39 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 51-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 10:40 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 31-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct and a parole hold.

WEST: Adult Arrested Person – 11:13 a.m. A 50-year-old male subject was arrested for felony retail theft and a probation hold.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 12:24 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 24-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 12:38 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 31-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for possession of THC, possession of ecstasy and felony bail jumping (2 counts).

MIDTOWN: Child Neglect – 1:52 p.m. Officers responded to a report of child neglect. A 14-year-old female subject was arrested for battery. Child Protective Services plugged in.  Investigation continuing.

WEST: Adult Arrested Persons – 4:07 p.m. Two wanted subjects were taken into custody (54-year-old male subject for 2 counts of disorderly conduct and 41-year-old female subject for disorderly conduct while armed).

WEST: Mental Health Conveyance – 4:52 p.m. A suicidal subject was conveyed to a local hospital for an evaluation. The subject was voluntarily admitted and officers disengaged.

EAST: Crash with Injuries – 6:53 p.m. Officers responded to a crash involving two vehicles. Two subjects were conveyed to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 48-year-old male driver was arrested for injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 9:23 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance. A 33-year-old male subject was arrested for recklessly endangering safety, threats to law enforcement, disorderly conduct and resisting. A 48-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and possession of cocaine.

MIDTOWN: Mental Health Conveyance – 10:16 p.m. Officers responded to local hospital for concerns of a suicidal subject wanting to leave.  Journey Mental Health consulted.  An emergency detention was supported. The subject was subsequently conveyed to another local facility for placement.

03/06

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 1:13 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver (27-year-old male) was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of cocaine and misdemeanor bail jumping.

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 3:00 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.
