MPD Notable Calls 10/30/2019 to 10/31/2019

The information provided below about some of the calls officers responded to is derived from notes provided by MPD Officers-In-Charge (OIC) at the end of their shifts. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered by an OIC from those in the field who were actively working cases. The OIC is sharing what they were being told, in the moment. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as officers, detectives and investigators continue their work.

 

From 6:00 a.m. on 10/30/2019 through 6:00 a.m. on 10/31/2019, MPD received 423 calls for service.  This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. 

**Priority calls only from 5:24 p.m. to 8:48 p.m. due to calls for service.

**Limited crash response from 8:10 p.m. to 8:46 p.m. due to staffing.

NORTH: Disturbance – 7:15 a.m.  Officers responded to a North District residence for a disturbance involving a juvenile (13-year-old male).  While taking the juvenile into custody, the juvenile resisted arrest.  The juvenile was arrested and charged with battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, truancy and resisting.  The juvenile's sister/victim sustained visible injuries.  The juvenile was conveyed to the Juvenile Reception Center.   

NORTH: Check Welfare – 12:02 p.m.  Officers responded to a North District residence to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject (26-year-old female) who was armed with a knife.  The subject was contacted and cooperative with officers.  The subject was taken into protective custody and conveyed to a local hospital where she was voluntarily admitted.

EAST: Mental Health Conveyance – 12:43 p.m.  Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject (19-year-old female).  Areas checked.  Phone ping conducted to locate the subject.  The subject was taken into protective custody and conveyed to a local hospital for an evaluation.  Journey Mental Health plugged in.  An emergency detention was subsequently sought and she was conveyed to Winnebago by MPD officers.    

NORTH: Intoxicated Driver – 1:22 p.m.  Officers, along with MFD/EMS, responded to Almo Ave/Pleasure Dr for a driver/suspect (49-year-old male) passed out in his vehicle in the middle of the road.  Contact with the driver led to concerns for his sobriety.  The driver was administered field sobriety tests, which he failed.  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence (5th offense) after receiving a medical clearance.        

MIDTOWN: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 2:45 p.m.  Officers responded to a report of a missing/runaway juvenile (17-year-old female).  Attempt to locate aired.  Areas checked.  Phone ping conducted.  The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.  **The juvenile was located and returned home later in the day/evening.   

MIDTOWN: Adult Arrested Person – 4:27 p.m.  A wanted suspect (39-year-old male) was taken into custody. 

WEST: Strong Armed Robbery – 6:29 p.m.  Officers responded to the Associated Bank on McKee Rd for a report of a robbery.  The suspect handed the teller a note demanding money.  The suspect fled with cash. 

EAST: Check Property – 6:50 p.m.  Officers responded to East Towne Mall parking lot for a report of shots fired.  Areas checked.  No evidence of shots fired located at this time. 

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 7:08 p.m.  Officers responded to a North District residence for a domestic disturbance between two subjects (female victim and 24-year-old male).  Probable cause was developed to arrest the suspect for domestic disorderly conduct. 

NORTH: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 12:59 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of a missing/runaway juvenile (15-year-old female).  Attempt to locate aired.  Areas checked.  The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.   

WEST: Information – 1:44 a.m.  Officers responded to a West District residence and met with the caller/victim (female) who reported an unknown male suspect forced his way into her residence and assaulted her.  Limited information known at this time.
