The information provided below about some of the calls officers responded to is derived from notes provided by MPD Officers-In-Charge (OIC) at the end of their shifts. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered by an OIC from those in the field who were actively working cases. The OIC is sharing what they were being told, in the moment. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as officers, detectives and investigators continue their work.

From 6:00 a.m. on 06/25/2020 through 6:00 a.m. on 06/26/2020, MPD received 427 calls for service.  This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.  A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (53), East (88), Midtown (76), North (65), South (39), West (72), and Other (34).  "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City.  This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 3:00pm to 7:40pm and from 9:30pm to 10:30pm due to calls for service.

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 5:08 am.  Officers responded to a residence where the victim reported that the suspect (30-year-old male) punched her and frightened her by being loud and boisterous.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and battery.  (This was a late call that did not make the previous 24-hour cycle.)

NORTH: Check Person – 7:10 am.  Officers were dispatched to E Washington Ave at N Stoughton Rd to assist a subject who needed medical attention.

CENTRAL: Check Person – 9:02 am.  Officers made contact with an agitated subject outside the CCB.  Officers listened while the subject aired his grievances and the subject then left without incident.

CENTRAL: Check Person – 12:41 pm.  Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of E Washington Ave for two subjects (34- and 39-year-old females) who were slumped in a parked vehicle.  Naloxone was administered to one of the subjects.  Both subjects were transported to the hospital.  No charges were substantiated at this time.

WEST: Information – 1:10 pm.  Officers investigated a report of alleged child abuse.  Investigation continuing.

CENTRAL: Drug Incident/Investigation – 2:41 pm.  Two victims reported they were robbed at gunpoint by several suspects as they entered a downtown residence.  Officers detained multiple suspects and charges including armed robbery may be forthcoming.  Investigation continuing.

WEST: Disturbance – 8:17 pm.  Officers responded to a residence where an argument between one of the victims and the suspect (25-year-old female) became a physical fight.  The suspect struck the victim in the face, pulled her hair, pushed her to the ground and pinned her there.  A second victim attempted to intervene at which point the suspect struck the second victim in the face, pulled her hair and applied pressure to her throat.  The suspect was not on scene when police arrived.  Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for physical abuse to a child, strangulation, battery and disorderly conduct.

EAST: Fight Call – 9:05 pm.  Officers responded to Great Gray Dr for a fight in progress involving a large group of juveniles.  Two suspects (14- and 15-year old females) were cited for disorderly conduct and a third suspect (14-year-old female) was arrested for battery to a law enforcement officer and resisting.
