The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 6/7/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 6/10/2024, MPD received 1,205 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (262),East (232), Midtown (177), North (184), South (141), West (181), and Other (28). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Central/Homicide – 1:33am: Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 1300 block of Williamson Street. A subject (27-year-old male) with gunshot wounds was located. Lifesaving measures were attempted but not successful. More than 40 casings located/recovered. Incident Report on MPD's website completed. Investigation continuing.

Midtown/Adult Arrested Person – 12:01pm: Officers responded to a road rage incident with a gun displayed. A 30-year-old female subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed. Firearm recovered.

Midtown/Check Person – 1:27pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was contacted and transported to a local hospital. Subject in need of surgery. Officers disengaged.

East/Death Investigation – 2:04pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (60-year-old male). Subject observed down through a window. Entry made to the residence and the subject was determined to be deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.

East/Check Person – 3:50pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was voluntarily conveyed to a local hospital. Final outcome/placement pending.

North/Child Abuse – 9:43pm: A 29-year-old male subject was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Priority calls only from 4:10pm-5:10pm due to calls for service.

Central/Disturbance – 12:29am: Officers observed a disturbance involving a 22-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 1:14am: Officers responded to a report of a 45-year-old male subject screaming. The subject was contacted and would not stop yelling. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct. The subject resisted officers. Resisting charge added.

Central/Check Area – 1:53am: Officers responded to an alarm at a construction site and observed several subjects inside a building. An 18-year-old male subject was arrested for resisting and entry to a construction site. A second subject (18-year-old male) was charged with entry to a construction site.  

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 3:13am: A firearm was located in plain view in a vehicle. A 27-year-old male subject was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm, possession with intent to deliver THC, possession with intent to deliver Schedule I narcotics, resisting, and a probation hold.

South/Mental Health Conveyance – 6:16am: A subject asked two people where he could buy drugs. The subject then brandished a knife and charged at them when they told him they did not know. Journey Mental Health consulted. Emergency detention sought/approved. Transport to Winnebago pending. Criminal charges also forthcoming.

East/Intoxicated Driver – 6:58am: Officers responded to a crash. A 22-year-old female subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense).

East/Death Investigation – 3:27pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (28-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time. Drugs believed to be involved.

East/Adult Arrested Person – 3:52pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject (53-year-old male) slumped over in a vehicle. The subject was transported to a local hospital where he was admitted. The subject received citations for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

North/Runaway Juvenile – 5:37pm: A 12-year-old female was reported as missing/runaway. Incident Report on MPD's website completed. The juvenile was located safe in North Dakota.

Midtown/Hit-and-Run – 6:31pm: Two bicyclists were struck by a vehicle. Non-life threatening injuries sustained.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 11:41pm: Officers were conducting barn checks when a 20-year-old male subject attempted to flee from officers. The subject was arrested for resisting causing injury.

Priority calls only started overnight and until 7:50am due to calls for service.

Central/Weapons Violation – 12:44am: Officers responded to a report of a loud party in the 400 block of W. Johnson St. As officers were pulling up on scene they were advised by dispatch that there were reports of shots fired. Numerous victims sustained non-life threatening injuries. Incident Reports on MPD's website completed. Press conference conducted. Investigation continuing.

Central/Trespass – 7:54am: Officers responded to a trespassing complaint involving a 67-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for trespassing.

South/Disturbance – 11:17am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 15-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.

South/Armed Robbery – 11:44am: A subject went behind the counter at a restaurant and attempted to open the cash register. The subject took the phone away from staff when they started to call 911. The subject physically assaulted a staff member. Investigation continuing.

West/Domestic Disturbance – 1:08pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, using OC in the commission of a crime, obstructing, and misuse of 911.

Central/Stolen Auto – 1:52pm: A vehicle was reported stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

East/Crash – 2:50pm: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. pole crash.  MG&E responded. Traffic diverted, then reopened.

East/Check Person – 7:08pm: Officers responded to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital where they were voluntarily admitted.

East/Weapons Violation – 10:46pm: Officers responded to the area of Trafalger Place/Andrew Way for reports of shots fired. Two subjects with gunshot wounds were located. Several vehicles had been struck by gunfire. Medical aid provided to the victims. The subjects were transported to a local hospital. Incident Report on MPD's website completed. Investigation continuing.

Central/Trespass – 11:08pm: Officers responded to a report of trespassing involving a 54-year-old female subject. The subject was transported to jail to post on a trespassing citation.
