The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 12/05/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 12/06/2024, MPD received 383 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (61), East (70), Midtown (73), North (55), South (55), West (62), and Other (7). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

NORTH: Traffic Stop – 5:13 am. Officers attempted to stop a vehicle involved in previous suspicious activity. The vehicle fled the traffic stop but was later located unoccupied. Investigation continuing.
MIDTOWN: Child Abuse – 5:28 am. Officers made contact with three juveniles who wished to report abuse and neglect. Detectives developed probable cause to arrest the 44-year-old female suspect for domestic disorderly conduct, domestic battery and physical abuse to a child. Investigation continuing.
NORTH: Armed Robbery – 7:10 am. The victim reported he was walking on Troy Dr when two unidentified suspects armed with guns exited a vehicle and took cash from him. Investigation continuing.
MIDTOWN: Adult Arrested Person – 8:26 am. Officers took into custody a 34-year-old male suspect who had a warrant. The suspect was conveyed to jail.
WEST: Sexual Assault – 11:38 am. Officers contacted a victim who wished to report that the 46-year-old male suspect had made inappropriate sexual contact with her. The suspect was arrested and charged with 4th degree sexual assault and disorderly conduct.
NORTH: Violation of Court Order – 3:57 pm. A victim reported that the 29-year-old male suspect had been contacting her by phone in violation of a no contact order. Officers developed probable cause to charge the suspect with the violation. Officers discovered that the complainant also had a warrant for her arrest so she was conveyed to jail.
NORTH: Trespass – 4:49 pm. Officers responded to the Red Roof Inn for a trespass complaint. The 57-year-old male suspect was charged with trespassing and conveyed to jail.
NORTH: Homicide – 7:01 pm. Officers responded to the 1500 block of Troy Dr and located three victims with gunshot wounds, one of whom succumbed to his injuries. Incident report completed on MPD website. Investigation continuing.
NORTH: Check Person – 9:05 pm. Officers responded to a residence where a man was engaged in self-harm. Officers consulted with Journey Mental Health who supported an emergency detention. The man was placed into protective custody and left in the care of hospital staff.
NORTH: Disturbance – 9:59 pm. Officers responded to a Metro bus where the 20-year-old male suspect was causing a disturbance and refused to get off after the driver asked him to. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting.
CENTRAL: Disturbance – 11:55 pm. Officers responded to a bar in the 200 block of King St where the 23-year-old male suspect was trying to fight with other customers. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting.
