City-Wide Notable Calls 10/8/2025 to 10/9/2025

The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 10/8/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 10/9/2025, MPD received 398 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (76),East (89), Midtown (76), North (61), South (36), West (51), and Other (9). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 6:42pm to 1:07am due to calls for service.

Midtown/Disturbance – 10:01am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 13-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and conveyed to the Juvenile Reception Center. CARES involved.

Central/Drug Investigation – 1:31pm: During an inspection of a business drugs were located. Warrants obtained and executed. Drugs, guns and money was located/recovered. Investigation continuing.

East/Sexual Assault of a Child – 5:28pm: Officers were requested by Child Protective Services to assist with a sexual assault of a child investigation/interview. Investigation continuing.

South/Disturbance – 5:28pm: Officers responded to sounds of a disturbance at a residence. Entry made and 2 subjects located. It was reported that 3 male subjects came into the residence and assaulted one of the subjects in the home. The victim was pistol whipped and sustained a gunshot wound to their hand. Numerous subjects were contacted/interviewed. A 20-year-old female subject was arrested on outstanding warrants and probable cause for felony retail theft and bail jumping. Identification of suspects pending. Investigation continuing.

Midtown/Check Person – 6:38pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject having a mental health crisis. Areas checked. Subject not located.

Central/Death Investigation – 7:58pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (72-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

North/Adult Arrested Person – 9:15pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 44-year-old male subject who appeared to be highly under the influence. The subject was contacted. The subject was in possession of meth and cocaine. The subject was arrested for possession of meth, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

East/Check Area – 10:14pm: Officers responded to numerous reports of shots fired in the area of Langley Lane/Dell Drive. Casings located. No reported injuries or property damage at this time.

Central/Sexual Assault – 10:43pm: Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault. The victim was transported to a local hospital. Investigation continuing.

South/Suspicious Vehicle – 11:04pm: Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot. The vehicle was located unoccupied. The vehicle was damaged (broken rear window and steering column was pulled down). Registered owner contacted and they had not realized their vehicle was gone (stolen). Investigation continuing.

Midtown/Check Area – 1:05am: Caller reported a man with a rifle was outside trying to kill them. Officers arrived in the aera and nothing was located. Phone contact made with the caller who would not provide further information. Officers stayed in the area for awhile but ultimately disengaged.

Central/Aggravated Battery – 1:58am: A victim was pushed/tackled by an unknown subject. The victim fell forward face first on the pavement and required stitches. Investigation continuing.

North/Mental Health Conveyance – 2:41am: Officers responded to a subject who was in need of a Chapter 51 return. The subject was transported to Winnebago.
